The Manfrotto by Bogen Imaging MBAG100PN Padded Tripod Bag (Black) is a padded ballistic nylon bag designed to carry Bogen/Manfrotto tripod with a head up to 39" long. As with all soft-sided bags, an item's girth may reduce this number. Thermoform padding holds the tripod in place and protects it, especially the head, during transport. It also serves a double purpose by protecting the tripod's hard edges when it is carried. The zipper extends down the length of the bag, but also fully opens the top end of the bag. The end opening allows for faster "quiver" style extraction and insertion of the tripod. The inner pocket holds accessories (such as video head pan bars). The bag is tapered to follow the shape of the tripod and head.

The tripod legs fit comfortably in the narrower end and extra space is allowed for the larger volume of the head at the wider end. This also means it's easier to put the tripod and head in the bag, even if the head levers and knobs are fitted and jut out slightly. The bag includes a shoulder strap and an end carry handle. There is also a carry handle on the side.

  • Full length zipper
Tapered shape allows you to store the tripod with the head attached. Tripod legs fit comfortably in the narrower end and extra space is allowed for the larger volume of the head at the wider end. This also means it is easier to put the tripod and head in the bag, even if the head levers and knobs are fitted and jut out slightly
Zipper extends down the length of the bag, but also fully opens the top end of the bag, making it easier to get your tripod in and out, as well as being able to extract the tripod quickly
Thermoform padding holds the tripod in place and protects it, especially the head, during transport. It serves a double purpose by protecting the tripod's hard edges when carrying
Inner pocket holds accessories (such as video head pan bars) where they won't rattle around or get damaged
Bag is slightly tapered to provide a better fit for a tripod with the head attached. The wider end of the bag accommodates the head without requiring all levers to be removed

MBAG100PN Padded Tripod Bag is rated 4.8 out of 5 by 57.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice Quality - Misleading Length Love the build quality. Zipper is sturdy, and the tripod was well protected. Purchased it so that I could check my tripod as baggage on a plane. The strap made it easy to sling on my bag and free up both hands for my luggage and my camera bag as I walked through the airport. The 39 long dimension listed is the actual bag length from tip to tip. I had read another review stating that their tripod didn't fit, so I went for an entire size larger than I thought. I'm GLAD I did. My sticks (legs plus head) measured 33 from the flat feet to the flat head. It fits with a comfortable amount of room. If my sticks had measured 37 or larger there is no way it would have fit.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Solid Bag I have the Manfrotto MVH502A Fluid Head and 546B Tripod System and was in need of a new bag. I was unsure about what size to purchase since I had purchased one that was the right size, but the fit was too tight. It was recommended by Manfrotto that I purchase the MBAG90PN, but B&H said I should get the MBAG100PN, B&H was correct and I'm glad I ordered the larger bag. The extra room makes it easier to get the tripod in and out. I think the MBAG90PN would have been more like pulling on tight fitting jeans...sometimes you need the extra room, right?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fits Manfrotto 535 Sticks and 504HD Head When I first opened the box and saw this bag, I thought it was giant! It is however sized perfectly for my Manfrotto 535 carbon sticks with attached 504HD head. I even have a Manfrotto RC pan bar attached to the sticks and it fits securely. Not enough room to shift but enough space to not be a tight squeeze. Not matter what your sticks/head combo is, make sure you account for the working height of your head! I have about 2 inches of room with my setup. Any less and it would be a really cramped. The internal zipper pouch is nice for some durable accessories as there is a bit more room down below the head towards the middle of the bag. Absolutely fantastic design!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Finally, a bag that fits If you have a Manfrotto 545B Professional Tripod Legs with Mid-Level Spreader with a 503HDV Professional Video Fluid Head it will NOT fit in the 3280BLK (AW-3280B) 35 Tripod Bag which is recommended when you order the tripod. If you want to store your tripod and head together you will need THIS BAG which has a larger opening on the head side of the bag to accommodate the required size and dimensions of the tripod. There is a little extra room with this bag in the length but i feel i'll be able to stuff a few little bits and bobs in that space which I may need on shoots.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Well made, good for more than intended I bought this bag to transport a telescope tripod which is much bulkier than say a typical camera tripod. In addition to the telescope tripod (2 diameter legs), I also have an 11 lb counterweight (one end of the bag) and about 4 more pounds of mounting plates (between the tripod legs) that I store and transport in this bag. The bag is extremely well made with good strong zippers and the bags handles all of the weight nicely. Even the carry straps are very well attached and strong enough to support transport about to and from my vehicle. I tried 2 other bags from different manufacturers before settling on this one. I returned both as either too small or too poorly made. The Manfrotto bag is really a great product well worth the cost.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worth every penny! Holds 3 lightstands, 3 brollies, and a softbox. One internal zippered pocket holds a couple of tilt units or the handles from a 3D head (these need to be removed to fit the head in if you are carrying lighting gear as well). Very comfortable to carry on the shoulder strap, grab handle on the base works well too. Smart looking piece of gear. No complaints.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect Fit! This well-padded bag fits my Gitzo 3540LS tripod with the Wimberley WH-200 Gimbal head attached. There's also room for my Manfrotto monopod and a zipper pocket where I keep my Arca V1 ball head and my tripod tools. The hard end piece provides excellent protection for the tripod head. The design is pretty much the same as the one RRS uses.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Fits the 509HD head (just barely) We're using the bag for Manfrotto 509HD head with Vinten 3821-3 sticks. It's been hard to find out what bag would fit the large and rectangular 509HD tripod head. After much digging, I found out that when you buy it with a kit you get the MBAG100PNHD (which B&H, like most vendors, don't sell separately). An email to Manfrotto revealed that the HD variant is the same as this case, just with some exterior cosmetic differences. When I first got the MBAG100PN I thought I'd have to return it - the head didn't fit at first. It took a couple of days of breaking it in, now it fits with the handle on - just barely.Nevertheless, the case is robust in its category (soft, non-padded) and I can't find anything superior that doesn't cost 3 times as much. If you are willing to spend the extra money, a roomier case will be easier to handle.PS The semi-hard plastic cap isn't for the base, as it might seem, but for the head. It makes sense since the head needs more protection, the bag just looks upside-down when stored vertically.
