A macro telephoto designed for DX, the Nikon AF-S DX Micro NIKKOR 85mm f/3.5G ED VR is a 127.5mm-equivalent prime optimized for close-up shooting. Offering a life-size 1:1 maximum magnification and an 11.3" minimum focusing distance, this lens is especially adept for working with nearby subjects. Its optical design includes one extra-low dispersion element, which minimizes chromatic aberrations in order to achieve high clarity and color accuracy. A Super Integrated Coating is also used to suppress flare and ghosting for greater contrast when working in bright and backlit conditions. The Silent Wave Motor AF system produces fast, near-silent focusing performance that suits both stills shooting and movie recording, which can instantly be manually overridden by simply turning the manual focus ring. Further contributing to producing sharp imagery, VR II (Vibration Reduction) image stabilization compensates for the effects of camera shake by up to three shutter speed steps.

Is the nikon 85mm d 1:3.5 a USA version for warranty conerns ?Nikon sku should be SKU: NK8535VRU
This is a Nikon USA lens made in China. The warranty paper comes inside the box with the lens. I had no problem registering my warranty for this lens at the Nikon USA website. You will not need the SKU to register the lens, just the serial number and the model which is on the warranty paper. This is an excellent lens.

Quick question. This lens is a DX formatted lens, so it will be a true 85mm focal length on a DX camera correct? It will not give a 127mm cropped image. I think the 127mm will be for FX sensors only. Perhaps thats what 127.5mm (35mm Equivalent) means but I am not sure,
An 85mm lens is always an 85mm lens in focal length. When used on a DX camera, it will have the field of view of a 127mm lens. The depth of field will behave like an 85mm lens. Focal length is always reported as the physical focal length. The field of view of the lens will depend on the effective sensor size.

All the Nikon macro lenses are very good for food shots, it depends if you have a cropped sensor camera or full frame and how wide a shot you want. The 60mm macro or 40mm macro may be better if you want more in the shot. But all in all, they are all very good.

All but the 10-24mm lens will work full frame on the Nikon D750. The 10-24mm lens is a DX lens and will need to be used in DX Crop mode.
