Formatt Hitech BF 77-ND1.8HD overview

  • 1Description

The Formatt-Hitech 77mm HD ND 1.8 Filter is a solid neutral density filter providing a 6 stop reduction in exposure. This 1.8 density creates a darkening of the entire image, allowing you to photograph with a wider aperture or longer shutter speed than normally required. By slowing your exposure time or increasing your aperture, you are able to control depth of field and convey movement more easily.

This filter is constructed from Schott Superwhite glass to maintain high optical clarity and is set within a 4mm-thick metal filter ring.

1.8 ND filter darkens the image, allowing you to photograph with a longer shutter speed or wider aperture than normally required.
Providing a 6 stop exposure reduction, this filter allows you to control depth of field and convey movement more easily.
Filter does not affect coloration of the image and is ideal for use with other filters.

Formatt Hitech BF 77-ND1.8HD reviews

77mm HD ND 1.8 Filter is rated 1.0 out of 5 by 1.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from NOT as advertised This ND filter is said to have no color effect and does not affect color. This filter casts a really bad magenta color over the entire image. No white balance or color settings can fix it. It did however give me the exposure I wanted. I returned this ND filter and went with a Tiffen 77mm 1.4 ND filter that was a little more expensive that worked great. Eventually just moved up to the Genus ND Fader for almost double the price, but is a good investment if you have multiple lenses with a 77mm thread
