This 82 Formatt Hitech HD ND Glass Filter is a solid neutral density filter providing a 7-stop reduction in exposure. This 2.1 density creates a darkening of the entire image, allowing you to photograph with a wider aperture or longer shutter speed than normally required. By slowing your exposure time or increasing your aperture, you are able to control depth of field and convey movement more easily. This filter is constructed from Schott Superwite glass to maintain high optical clarity and is set within a 4mm-thick metal filter ring.

Formatt Hitech HD ND Glass Filter Reviews
Great ND filter, great seller
As always, B&H provided a great product with fast, secure shipping at a competitive price. Whats not to like?
Pretty Neutral. NO FRONT THREADS???
I'm blown away as to why this filter doesn't have any front threads. It wasn't advertised as being slim or thin, so why doesn't it have front threads? No, I don't want to stack filters, I just want to use a friggin' lens cap! Its really a pain having to unscrew the filter, put it in a case, and re-apply every time I want to move the camera with a lens cap on. That being said, the image quality is quite good. No color shift when the sun isn't in frame. Shooting directly into the sun you get a slight magenta shift to the resulting lens flare. I shoot mostly around 100ISO, f/16, 1/2 second shutter in full sun. Good shutter speed for blurring traffic and pedestrians in daytime urban landscape photography. Could also be good for blurring traffic at night. Does not vignette on a Canon 16-35 lens and 5DMK3 or 6D.
