Being entirely native, the software is independent of proprietary audio hardware, meaning that the program will function just as well on a laptop, as on an audio workstation with dozens of inputs and outputs. MME, ASIO and WDM drivers are fully supported.
Features contained in Sequoia 11 that make it stand out over the Samplitude versions include the ability to save valuable time with radio productions by seamless linking to radio content management systems from DAVID Systems and VCS. Swap individual files at the press of a button or even manage entire Sequoia projects in databases.
For more involved (multi-track) editing, the software offers features like multi-synchronous cut, a further enhancement of the source/destination editing model. Sequoia is capable of using multi-track projects to burn Red Book compatible master CDs that can feature copy protection, UPC/EAN and ISRC codes, pre-emphasis and CD text. Formats for transferring the project to the vinyl pressing include DDP or wave export, including cue list.
For post-production, the option to use the audio input from the sound card for synchronizing with external timecode is also available. AAF/OMF support enables projects to be exchanged between platforms quickly and after a film has been dubbed, Sequoia can be used to produce a visual copy without the need for additional programs.
