Platine Fibre Rag Paper (11 x 17", 25 Sheets) is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 12.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Almost a fine art paper I didn't have much of an expectation when I purchased this paper. I assumed it would be best used for black and white fine art photographic printing. There are some unique qualities about this paper (cotton rag, no optical whiteners). I thought this would be similar to some of the old fibre papers used in traditional film printing, however the surface finish is almost closer to a luster finish. I still use Photo Black (on the Epson 3880) with this paper, but it does have a more lab process/fine art feel than the traditional silver gelatin papers. All in all, a very white paper that I will probably use for color photographic printing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This paper is gorgeous! Printing highly detailed photos of historic architectural features, it simply brings out the very best in color, clarity and amazingly fine details. Using this paper has raised my photographic prints to a stratospheric level of brilliance and desirability from my clients. Thanks for making it available!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quality Printed Images The images that I've printed on this paper have turned out outstanding. After hunting for a quality paper I decided to try the Platine Fibre Rag after watching Robert Rodrigues, Jr.'s brief presentation on it. Despite its cost, I've adopted it along with Canson's PhotoSatin Premium RC as my papers of choice. The Platine is relatively expensive, but the printed results using Canon's Pixma Pro-10 more than compensates for the cost. It is what Rodrigues indicated it was and then some!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I love this paper This is one of my first high-end papers that I've tried in my Canon Pro9000 Mark II. I am not disappointed. The feel of this paper in the hand is great--no flimsiness, and the matte finish is just what I like. I also bought the Bartya Photographique paper by Canson, which I also like. But, so far, I like the Platine just a tad better for the slightly more matte finish. Using the Canson ICC profiles with my Pro9000 Mark II, I noticed that the Platine Fiber Rag prints just a bit towards the orange side compared to Canson's Baryta Photographique. For saturated orange regions, this is not really noticeable. But, for caucasian flesh tones I need to work out the details. I haven't calibrated my monitor in several months, so take this with a grain of salt. But, the side by side prints with the Baryta paper make the difference apparent.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing!!! Canson's Platine Fibre Rag is the best paper I've ever printed on. I have yet to try Rag Photographique, which I hear great things about, but until then this is my go to paper for fine art prints. I generally print in B&W but Platine FR does beautiful with color also. For a very long time I used Baryta Photographique as my paper of choice, but I think Platine has the edge. I'd highly recommend.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Platine does not mean Platinum I bought this paper to test it as an alternative to Arches Platine, since it is no longer available. And as I have found out, PLATINUM/PALLADIUM PRINTING DOES NOT WORK ON THIS PAPER. This paper is strictly meant for inkjet printing. However, I ran two tests so far, and I found that my colors turned out really funny, but my black and white image printed beautifully.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Accurate Color Accurate and consistent color when using the Canson icc profile. However, prints do come out a bit on the dark side, but I think that has more to do with the monitor calibration (if so, experiment and compensate by increasing the brightness or exposure in Lightroom or Photoshop).
