I use multiple papers for various images, but my favorite over all is Canson Infinity Plantine Fibre Rag paper. I have it in multiple sizes. the 13x19 paper allows multiple options - 11x14, 12x18, 13x19. It provides extremely high quality images. Printed a lot for art show this past weekend and it was my top seller.

I have a new Canon PRO-4100 printer and have been testing a variety of fine art papers from both Hahnemuhle and Canson. Canson’s Platine paper has emerged as one of my favored papers for my style of photography (Nature & landscapes). Platine is an excellent choice when you want a fine art paper that has some gloss, but is not too glossy, and also possesses many of the same high quality features of a fine matte paper - super deep blacks and wonderful saturated colors. Platine strikes a happy medium, and has become my preferred go-to paper for probably half of my Nature images. It is pricey, but give an A4 sample pack a try. You might just fall in love with as much as I have!

The Canson Infinity Platine Fibre Rag Paper (8.5 x 11", 25 Sheets) has 89.12% whiteness and high water resistance. The Epson Legacy Platine Paper has 82% whiteness.

Back before Christmas I purchased two boxes of ...

Back before Christmas I purchased two boxes of Canson Infinity Platine Fibre Rag paper (8.5x11 and 13x19) from B&H. I now have a new Canon imageProGraf 300 printer. I've downloaded the ICC profile for this paper, but Canson does not indicate the "Media Type" setting that I should use in PS or LR. Could anyone advise me what media setting I should use?

You can probably use Luster or Exhibition Fiber which is also in the semi gloss family. Please note: being that the TM300 is only a 4 color printer not really for photos or fine art, you can't expect to get the exact color on prints anyway. You'll need a printer like the Pro 4100.

I purchased 2 boxes of Canson's Platine Fibre Rag ...

I purchased 2 boxes of Canson's Platine Fibre Rag paper from B&H back in December. I now have a Canon imageprograf 300 printer. I've downloaded the icc profile from Canson's site. The accompanying pdf recommends that in PS, the media paper type should be set at "Matte Paper". However, the label on the box describes the paper as "Ultra Smooth Glossy".  Would anyone have a suggestion as to the correct media type for this paper?

Hi Michael, I use Canson Platine with my Canon printer as well. I just went to Canon’s web site and downloaded the ICC profile for Platine paper and the Prograf 300 model, and nowhere in the pdf do I see anything about setting the printer media type to “matte”. The document I’m reading says: “ On the Main Page (figure 1), choose the media type that you believe is closest to the substrate/paper you are using.” You should be selecting “Glossy” for this paper type. I suggest you go back to Canson’s site and download the IVC profile again, making sure you’re selecting Platine Fibre Rag and not some other profile. (Canson sells matte papers with similar names, so I wonder if perhaps you selected the wrong profile) let us know how you get on.

Yes, it is compatible and it is best to use the printer specific ICC profiles for the Canson Infinity Platine Fibre Rag Paper and the Canon PIXMA PRO-100 Wireless Professional Inkjet Photo Printer when printing.
