MultiCart R12RT overview

  • 1Description

The Multi-Cart RocknRoller R12RT 8-in-1 All-Terrain Equipment Transporter has full-profile, hard rubber 10" rear wheels and 8" front wheels for easy transport over rough terrain while avoiding down-time due to punctured tubes. It has a 500 lb load capacity.

Multi-Cart is widely regarded as the go-to brand for anyone who needs to "take it on the road" safely and dependably. From the powder-coat finish to the quality hubs, wheels and the non-skid bed, every element of the design is aimed at the expeditious transport of your delicate gear, even in less than optimal environments.

The patented design instantly telescopes and transforms into any of 8 configurations to fit any equipment size or shape, enabling quick and ergonomic movement of huge amounts of gear and supplies with a small storage footprint.

No-Flat solid rubber wheels maintain the same high-profile road-gripping surface of the original pneumatic wheels but without the threat of punctures.
Equipped with patent-pending G-Force wheels and casters which are strong, lightweight and ride super quietly. The concentric hole design is structurally strong yet allows the casters to be lighter weight.
Glossy textured finish resists equipment slippage better than smooth finishes and is super tough.
Frame telescopes to stack loads high.
Non-skid frame bed surface resists load slippage.
Spring-loaded wing bolts won't vibrate out.
Stair skids ease hauling up steep stairs.
Strong tube axles are 43% lighter than solid axles.
Expandable frame accommodates innumerable cargo sizes and shapes.
Strong perforated front axle reduces weight and accommodates bungee cords.
Bold modern design. The 10" rear wheels and 8 " front wheels roll more smoothly over rough terrain than the typical 2" or 3" casters used on small carts.

    MultiCart R12RT reviews

    RocknRoller R12RT 8-in-1 All-Terrain Equipment Transporter is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 99.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from You deserve a cart like this i am a mobile dj, this cart is sturdy and versatile. i should have gotten one a long time ago. it is totally worth the money, the performance is so much better than a regular $80 convertible hand truck. my only warning is that the large all-terrain front wheels dont turn as easily as regular small wheels so swiveling in a small space is tricky, sometimes you have to point the wheels in the right direction with your foot. it's a trade-off for having the larger wheels. if you really dont go over grass or bumpy terrain, you may want to stick to the smaller wheeled unit.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Cart for the Money I am a professional sound mixer who needed a cart to haul some cases around on and give me a area to work from. So I bought this cart and the Shelf and Decklid. The cart is well built and BH is the only place that gives you the run flat tires for same price as normal air filled tires. So that is why I bought the cart from BH. The only cons to the cart are the Shelf and Deck Lid which are extra and only needed if you plan on using the cart to work from. The bolts that hold the shelf to the frame aren't long enough so I had to buy some longer bolts for $5.00 at a hardware store which wasn't a big deal. The deck mounting blocks were to close to the edge of the cart making it hard to secure it so it was easy to fix just took a wood chisel and trimmed a inch off each of the wood mounting blocks. Overall I love the cart and still think the shelf and deck lid are a good buy you just need to work on them a little bit like most gear I own

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Well-built and versatile I use this cart for transporting a large Pelican case and grip bag. The smallest position is perfect for c-stands and fits into elevators. It's well-built for the price and easy to maneuver. Collapsed, I can fit the cart in the front seat of my small sedan, but I normally leave it in the trunk. This was the best four-wheel cart I could find for the price that is small enough to fit in a car. If you drive a truck or van that has more space, a Magliner might be a more durable choice, but they are much longer and heavier. I'm not sure I'd trust the Multicart as a table, but it's fine for hauling gear.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Solid cart for a good price. There are better carets out there, but they cost a LOT more. 6-10X more, in fact. This cart does the job, is solid, can carry a lot of gear, gets reasonably small for packing into the car, and doesn't cost too much. It also has a good selection of accessories to kit it out. It requires a little fiddling with wing nuts, etc, to set it up at the start of the day, but that takes about 5 minutes and you're good to go for the day. Now, if you're in and out of the vehicle and have to set it up and break it down 4 or 5 times a day, this might not be right for you. The pricier carts have some ingenious latches that make setup quicker.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Cant beat it for the price Not the most compact cart which is a downside if you're traveling in a car or regular truck but its worth making room for. It opens up and collapses nicely, very easy to extend and is not overly heavy. I am a cinematographer and use this to carry around lighting gear when on location. I got the top shelf mount to add some space for extra gear and the extension rack. The extension rack allows me to add 4 c-stands and a tripod to the front of the cart for easy transport and I love it! Would be 5/5 if it was a little more compact. Overall great little cart.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Hummer of gear carts WHY DID I WAIT SO LONG?!? I have been schlepping my gear since 1990. I have had various smaller carts, including the venerable TriKart. I now have a van for work, so I could easily fit this into the kit. wow. Our first use was a corporate shoot out on Nantucket, travelling only on the passenger ferry. We loaded this up, using the bag on the end to carry stands and various grip gear. We arrived in Nantucket to be met by the 200 year old cobblestone streets. This cart handled it like a Pro. Fully laden with a pro still photo kit,it was easily maneuvered around the rough terrain streets. Then, quickly unloaded and collapsed to fit into a taxi for travel to/from our location. Awesome.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great cart! Highly recommended I use this multi-cart for transporting video equipment. I love that it can be adjusted in length to fit the size of the equipment that I am carrying. It is also very convenient the way it folds down into a small dimension so that it can be stowed in a vehicle. I recommend getting the carpet covering boards that create a more stable and less slippery platform for carrying crates, bags, tripods, light stands, etc. I also use kayak straps to secure the equipment to the cart. The multicart is a valuable piece of my video equipment package that I take with me on all shoots. Highly recommended.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from 2nd One after 5yrs Had the previous R12 for 5 yrs. New tires on this model are a much appreciated upgrade. I use it to haul photo gear on set and as a tether station with laptop and external monitor. The build of this cart has its weaknesses, but for the money and weight it suits me fine.
