    Lowepro Passport Sling reviews

Passport Sling Camera Bag (Black) is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 389.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love It It fits my cropped sensor DSLR plus a long lens nicely. There is also room for a light meter, extra battery and memory cards, filters and nylon jacket. It is very easy to get to my cameras. I use it whenever I am traveling and it is hardly noticeable. It fits in with all the other sling style bags one sees when traveling overseas. I separate the insert from the bag when traveling by air, folding the bag and placing it my luggage and using the insert in my carry-on. The only downside is the effort needed to reattach all the hook and loop fasteners! The outside pocket is not too useful because it will only hold small papers.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Finally - A Camera Purse! OK, I know that guys are going to hate reading this. But frankly, I don't care. As a woman, there are times that I would like to carry my DSLR but don't want to be bogged down with a bulky camera bag. The Passport Sling satisfies a very real need for me - I can pack this like a purse, and it protects my gear like a good camera bag. I can now take along my DSLR in situations where previously I would only have been able to carry a point-and-shoot. As a sling, this does a terrific job of holding my gear hands-free. And as a purse, it allows me to bop around town easily. I truly, truly love this bag.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Convenient & practical I use this bag whenever I go out with my camera, which is anytime I'm not heading to work (so weekday evenings and over weekends). I love the expandable section for the occasional book or folder I carry with me. Because it goes up on the expanded section, I can fit large water bottles in there and don't have to worry about them tipping over. Having a camera on the other end keeps it balanced so it doesn't move too much on my shoulder too. It fits really nicely around my back/side and I think it looks fairly stylish considering how incredibly practical it is. I water-proofed it when I got it, but I think that would be a nice feature to add.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great camera bag This is a great camera bag for a DSLR camera with a medium-length lens, speedlight, extra cards and batteries. I can still fit my wallet and other necessities in the bag as well. It has a zipper that expands the bag another few inches or so for the extra storage. I find this bag more comfortable to carry than my big camera bag. The trade off is that this bag is not heavily padded so it is not the best choice for shooting events where your bag may get jostled around a bit. I use it when I want to go out about town so that I can have my camera with me in case I see something I want pictures of.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great bag I just got a nice camera for my anniversary because of some upcoming travel. I searched the internet extensively for the best bag options. This bag was awesome on the first trip. It was great as a camera bag that also carried my passport, cell phone, etc. I have to take off 1 star on my rating because the velcro on the inside pocket came loose, and while that is a minor problem, it really shouldn't happen and I don't sew and didn't feel like I should have to repair a brand new bag. However, B&H happily accepted the return on the defective item and is replacing it for me. I am going to give it another shot because of the otherwise great experience with the bag.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this bag! As a matter of fact, this bag is replacing my original Passport Sling bag. For a relatively small bag, I regularly carry with me my DSLR with a 55-300 mm lens on it, a separate 18-55 mm lens, memory cards, battery charger, first aid kit, Swiss army knife, gym clothes, toiletries, newspaper, magazine, camera rain gear, gym lock, external phone charger, headphones, remote shutter release. I live in Manhattan, where I carry it as my daily bag and has gone with me to Europe a number of times, been through blizzards, rainstorms, been out sailing, hiking and mostly, the daily grind of NYC life. I'm replacing the bag because some of the bags' innards are starting to get a bit ratty. I don't think I've ever had a better bag!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Amateur - first camera bag - like it Like many said, it would be nice to have zippers inside the bag. I love how it fits comfortably on the shoulder and looks like a purse (little extra padding would be nice). I have a Canon Rebel XT with a 18-200 Canon IS lens. I keep the lens on the camera. It fits nicely. I wish the camera compartment in the bag was made of complete felt so I could determine where to fasten the inserts. Overall, I am pleased. For me it could be smaller but I know I am in the minority and may change my mind after my NYC trip in a few weeks! (I might note that I returned the mica after it came in - more olive than camel as it appeared on my computer!)

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Don't use in the rain The uncovered zipper is not even slightly water-resistant. I got caught in a rain shower with my 7D inside this bag, and the camera quit working for a full day, until it had thoroughly dried out. Its outside pockets do not even have flaps over them, which risks items falling out when setting the bag down. Also, its banana shape fits around neck and back nicely, but camera gear is not that shape and does not fit inside very well.
