All of these features help make the 826W a master communicator. But they tell just part of the story.

This project has two USB ports. You use the Type A port to attach a USB memory device like flash drive or digital camera for PC-free presentations. Meanwhile, you can also use the Type B port for that but its special trick is letting you connect to your computer to use the remote as a wireless mouse with a choice of three pointer shapes.

But the 826W's communications capabilities don't end there. It's got an RJ45 (Ethernet) jack so you can put it on your LAN and project from any PC on your network. The 826W can talk back too. It can send out emails for various events like letting you know the bulb is nearing the end of its useful life. What's more, you can send messages to all of the 826Ws on your network. This is ideal when you need to send schedule information, weather updates, emergency alerts and the like.

All of that networking goodness can also be done wirelessly with an optional Wi-Fi 802.11a/b/g module. There's one specifically designed to fit into a port on the projector.

If you need to project on the run you'll appreciate two last specs of the 826W. It weighs only seven pounds and it ships with its own carrying case.

2500 Lumens and a 2000:1 Contrast Ratio
That's plenty of projection power for presentations in a large classroom, lecture hall or meeting room or watching a DVD or Blu-ray disc in your media room, even with a fair amount of ambient light.
Epson 3LCD, 3-Chip Optical Engine
3LCD technology delivers sharper and brighter images with superior grayscale detail. Smooth, seamless color combined with an unparalleled grayscale range delivers incredible detail to every image displayed by the 826W. Grayscale is the shades of gray (from black to white) required for greater image depth and detail; it allows greater variation in shadows and brings superior accuracy to color, creating a vibrant, true-to-life visual experience.
Microphone Input
Dedicated input allows you to use a microphone to amplify you voice using the internal 10 watt speaker, saving your voice and ensuring your entire audience can hear. Volume can be adjusted using the projector or remote control buttons.
Ten Watt Built-In Speaker Plus Variable Audio Out (VAO)
This projector's ten watt speaker can fill many rooms with enough volume so that the folks in the farthest corners of the room can hear it. But just in case you need a greater sound volume you can plug in externally-powered speakers (available separately). That's the "audio out" part. The "variable" part means that you can use the projector's remote control to change the volume or mute the sound entirely.
World Ready
The 826W has a power supply that's compatible with 100 – 240 volts at 50/60 Hz. In addition to NTSC (the North American standard) it can handle the NTSC 4.43, PAL, PAL-M, PAL-N, PAL60 and SECAM video standards. And of course it can project crystal clear 720p, 1080i and 1080p high definition signals along with more than three dozen PC and Macintosh resolution/refresh rates.
Wired Network Ready With Wireless Option
With its RJ45 (Ethernet) jack and port for an optional 802.11 a/b/g module the 826W is ready to display images and presentations over the IP network from any networked location. You can also remotely access, monitor and control projectors over the network. You can have centralized control of one or a whole fleet of projectors via SNMP (Simple Network Management Protocol). You can also broadcast messages to every projector on the network, such as schedule changes, weather updates and emergency information. The projectors can send e-mail notifications to alert network administrators when there are issues related to the temperature, fan and lamp status.
USB Plug 'n Play Instant Setup
No more pressing computer function keys or carrying bulky VGA cables. Just plug in a standard USB cable and instantly project video with audio from your PC. This USB connection also enables you to maintain control over your presentation with the page up/page down function on the remote control.
Low Light Output Mode Lowers Operating Costs and Fan Noise and Lengthens Lamp Life
When you need to punch through a lot of ambient light or project a big image from a long distance (or both) you'll appreciate the 826W's High Light Output Mode. But when you can dim the lights a bit more or project a slightly smaller image (or both) you can save money using the projector's Low Light Output Mode. Lamp life is increased by 20 percent to 6000 hours. Fan noise drops from 35 dB to a whisper-quiet 28 dB. In standby mode the projector draws a mere 1.9 Watts (communications off) to 7.9 watts (communications on).
Money Saving 200 Watt E-TORL UHE Lamp
Epson's E-TORL lamp's innovative design makes it smaller, cooler running, more efficient and brighter than an ordinary lamp. Instead of one conventional parabolic reflector The E-TORL (Epson-Twin Optical Reflector) uses an elliptical reflector combined with a twin sub-reflector that collects light that would have otherwise been lost. This design achieves a 20 percent improvement in efficiency making the light output brighter and reducing waste heat. This means fan noise is reduced and lamp life is increased.
Security Features Protect Your Investment
You can password protect the projector and create and save your own starting logo to identify the projector as yours. You can also lock the buttons so settings can't be inadvertently changed. For physical security there's a cable attachment point (cable not included) and a slot for an optional Kensington security lock.
