Works well but not the most convenient to get the mic in and out of the mount
A very simple, effective solution.

The Shure A55M does a pretty good job at reducing vibrations and resonances coming from something like a boom arm like the Rode PSA1. It's not perfect, and don't expect it to completely mute all vibrations/sounds coming from a stand or boom arm, but it definitely reduces them by a decent amount. Enough to make handling a boom arm around a non-issue during streaming. I also think it looks pretty nice on the Shure SM57 along with the A2WS-BLK windscreen on it. It gives it a complete look.

will this work with an audio technica 2005 ...
will this work with an audio technica 2005 dynamic mic, or any basic dynamic mic shape that isn't actually a Shure brand SM57?
Maybe. It is definitely designed for the size and weight distribution of the SM57. The mount does not have a lot of room to spare in the gap between the flexible rubber ring and the outer plastic/quasi-metal shell. If the mic hangs in the shock mount in such a way that it make the flex ring touch the hard ring, it is not really shock mounted anymore. I have used it with a couple of other mics. The lighter they are the easier it is get it to work properly.

question
Will it work with an RE50?
The RE50 has a 1 inch shank. A A55M might work as its interior is just a hair over 1.0 inch, but the resulting fit may be a tiny bit loose.

question
Will this mount work with a shure vp 88?
I have a VP88, and I tried putting it in the larger A55M. It's a VERY snug fit on the 1.080 diameter end of the VP88. The mic tapers to 1.09 about 4 from the connector and rapidly tapers to 1.57 from there. I'd say it won't fit in the larger A55M, and it certainly wouldn't fit in the smaller A53M.
