Matthews BH-30 Reviews

The suction cup is amazing. The ball head is meh.

Suction cup is great. It holds for long periods of time and can hold a ton of weight. The ball head needs to be cranked down to stop moving, and it's really hard to crack the little knobs down because they have no way to grip them. I rig a small, 8lb camera setup off this for interior driving shots of the driver of a car.

Perfect hood mount. If you need to use a larger format camera the ball can be removed and replaced with a levelling ball head.

I just got a Matthews BH-30 Suction cup mount. 10". How do I rease the suction?
Asked by: Robert
When working with the Matthews BH-30 Ball Head with 10" (25cm) Suction Cup Mount, look at the rubber edge of the suction cup. There should be a small release tab/lip on the perimeter of the cup. Gently pull that tab to let air in under the cup, and that will release it.

question

Any experience using this particular mount in the winter, should I even dare use a car mount in the cold?
Asked by: Arsen
The cup is ratted from 10 degrees to 120 moisture can reduce the slip resistance of the cup. The red-line indicator may not perform reliably at elevations over 5,000'.

question

I see this is described as being 10 . That sounds like the suction cup is the size of a dinner plate which is very large for my purpose to hold a go pro. Is there one that is considerably smaller but same manufacturer, etc? Thank you.
Asked by: Mark
You would be better served with a 427015 6 pump cup with BH-20

question

How do you connect a go pro to this?
Asked by: Mark
The BH30 has a removable top plate and you can screw into any of the go pro mounts with a 1/4-20 female receiver.
