Oben TT-300 overview

  • 1Description

The Oben TT-300 Tabletop Tripod provides a sturdy base of support for shooting from a tabletop or other raised surface – or set the TT-300 on the ground or floor to achieve stable low-angle shots. Constructed of aluminum for lightweight strength, the TT-300 could be ideal for macro or product photography with most DSLR cameras. With the included mini ball head, load capacity of the system is 6 lb.

Turning the twist lock enables you to raise the extension column of the TT-300. The height range of the tripod is 9.5 to 17.3". For storage or for tossing it in a backpack, the extension column retracts into the main center column, which in turn retracts through the chassis. With the legs folded, the retracted TT-300 measures a compact 11.5" long.

The tripod's mini ball head mounts most cameras, including point & shoot models, to its 1/4"-20 screw. A single lever loosens the ball so that you can smoothly adjust the tilt and pan. The ball pans 360° and a groove allows the head to tilt 90° in one direction for portrait orientation.

    Oben TT-300 reviews

TT-300 Tabletop Tripod is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 21.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Ineffective; Decent value I bought this table tripod to tote around easily in my camera bag and provide a stable platform while shooting still life and night shots with my EOS-7D. It's allure when I saw the demo in B&H was the pricepoint, sleek aesthetics with rigid metal legs in a compact size. Unfortunately, this product doesn't deliver what a tripod should: stability & durability. Particularly with the size & weight of your typical DSLR with standard zoom lens, you'll need to shoot in timer mode or with a remote trigger as the platform is very nervous, especially at full extension. While the metals used makes this tripod's build quality feel excellent, one of the stoppers that keeps the tube from extending out of the socket has already fallen off and is now missing. 1-star for the size/aesthetics 1-star for the price point 1-star for ease of use My advice: if you're going to buy Oben, forego the 200 & 300 model and pick up the 100 as the extender poles do not provide a stable platform for DSLR's. However, I could see this being an effective tool for point & shoots.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from BEST tabletop tripod I own. I mainly use this tripod on tabletops in club settings when recording performances. I was looking for a portable tripod that could expand to a decent height without taking up too much space & being too heavy. This is THAT TRIPOD. If you are a performer or someone who is regularly on the go that needs a tripod that is easy to schlep around, look no further. With the potential to expand to just under 18, yet fits easily into almost any bag, this tripod is surprisingly firm & hefty without the weight. It also comes with a strap attached so you can hang it off your wrist. I have purchased a number of portable tripods over the years - this is my favourite by a long show. One VERY minor complaint: the ring that attaches the strap to the the tripod is made of plastic. Given the rest of the construction of this tool, I was a bit surprised. Just the same, if you are in the market for a portable tripod. Check this one out.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fills the bill Since I have just received this tripod, there is not a whole lot to say as yet. I did attach my Nikon D7100 with 40mm lens and it remained at the downward angle--no slipping!! Am not sure it will hold my 18-200mm extended way out, but I have not yet tried that. However, this little humdinger Table Top Tripod does what I need it to do on a table--gets me in close to subject, allows a variety of heights very quickly, and doesn't take up a lot of table space. I suspect I will be taking this outside to shoot flowers and it will be easier shooting than my larger tripods. However, I shall wait until winter is over!!Of course, using it with my smaller, lighter cameras, is a no brainer. As a matter of fact, I can even hold it up high and shoot over heads in a crowd!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Large table top tripod I always enjoy checking out the small tripod table at B&H. On my last visit I noticed the Oben tripods. I try to keep a tripod with e but sometimes it's just not practical carrying even a small gitzo. This fits in most of my camera bags and as is would be good for a micro 4/3 size camera. I don't think I would put anything but the lightest DSLRs on it, perhaps only if I changed the head. The tripod extends so you can set it from about 10-17. Overall it's a the tallest mini tripod I have felt comfortable using.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent mini tripod I was looking for a mini tripod that I can use with my Gopro 4 silver with the tripod mount and also be strong enough to hold my Nikon D3300. This is perfect for both cameras and small enough to fit inside of my back pack when I go Hiking/MTB . It's also perfect when used with my nikon to take pictures of bugs on the ground, rocks and plants It's a little pricey but once I got it and tested it out for a week or two I think it's worth every penny and very solid made

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Broke The Second Time I Used It Provided a good, stable platform for a Canon 7D with a 100MM macro lens and a slider focus assist; unfortunately it broke the second time I used it. It is covered under the 5 year warranty but it was a real problem since I was in the middle of an assignment and really needed the tripod. The manufacturer would not help with expediting a replacement although I did receive the RMA from B&H almost immediately.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very happy with this purchase. Handy tabletop tripod. I used with my Olympus OM-D twice this week. Once at a local pub to video a jazz quartet and at a family gathering taking a group photo. Using the self timer I was able to include myself in the group photo.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My Traveling Companion I use this mini compact tripod with my Canon 5D3 & 24-70mmII lens and it hold up very well. In doing photography, it allows me to take low angle shots and provides me the extra support in doing videos using my Canon 70D.
