Tongue-in-Pocket Design
Wimberley clamps have a unique tongue-in-pocket design that protects internal parts from dust and grit. The tongues are nearly twice as long as those on conventional Arca-Swiss style clamps. This added length counteracts the tendency of the moving jaw of the clamp to hinge backward during clamping, thus keeping the jaws aligned with the geometry of the plate and eliminating unwanted bending forces on the threaded stud.
Captive Knob
There is a stop screw located on the end of the stud. This screw keeps the knob and internal workings of the clamp captive.
Special Grooves
Two shallow channels extend from the sides of the clamp and stop just short of the central tapped hole. These channels allow greater fore-aft adjustment when using the safety stops on Wimberley quick release plates.

C-12 Quick Release Clamp (2.5", 6.4 cm Long) is rated 4.9 out of 5 by 45.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works great! Adapts to non-Arca-Swiss type ball head to enable mounting of lenses with arca-swiss type plates such as the Wimberley plates. My use was to add balancing capability to my Manfrotto quick release RC2 system. Mounted RC2 clamp to Wimberley plate, and mounted RC2 plate to this clamp. The Wimberley plate slides deeply in both directions to provide better balance for the camera. Also lets me mount lenses with Wimberley plates to Manfrotto head. The hardware that comes with it allows it to replace the clamp on the many types of ball heads if desired. Does everything that I expected it to. I like the deep recesses for the safety stop to slide to allow greater forward and backward motion.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sturdy Plate Bought a Wimberly P-20 plate so I could use on of my 80-400 Nikons on my Wimberly Gimbal Mount. To be able to still use my monopod, I needed this clamp plate. It has a strong grip and comes with more hardware than you will need to mount it to any type of monopod I have ever seen.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to install to convert a tripod head to Arca Swiss I purchased this clamp to convert my Vanguard SBH250 Tripod Head to an Arca Swiss Clamp. The Wimberley C-12 included everything I needed to make the conversion. It allows me to use my existing Vanguard Head with my RRS L-bracket at less cost than purchasing an entirely new head.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great quality I use the Wimberley P5 to secure my cams to the tripod, or to secure them to my stackshot (which is secured to the tripod, when in use). It's a straightforward, clean design - very secure - great build quality.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just What the Doctor Ordered! Needed to replace an existing quick release clamp to go on my ball head. Used this together with the P5 Universal Camera Plate and boy the difference is night and day! No more camera creep on my 5d MII with a 24-70L in Either Portrait or Landscape Mode. And this thing locks the camera solid. I did install only one of the safety stops so that I can still slide the camera out from one side while ensuring some measure of security so that the camera doesn't fall off especially in vertical mode. Will try it out next time with an L bracket from another manufacturer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to use and worth the price This is my second clamp. Hubby bought the first one for the Manfrotto monopod he gave me. Bought this one for the tripod. Super easy to use and very sturdy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fits nicely on SBH-250 using stock screw Bought this so I can use a Kirk L-bracket I got from somewhere else for a very, very good price. Installed it on a Vanguard SBH-250. I used the stock screw that came with it instead of using the reducer bushing & screw that came with it. A lot of people seem to think that the Vanguard 3/8-16x1 screw is unuseable but it worked fine for me. FYI: the Vanguard screw is not a normal 3/8-16. I went to Lowe's & HD to buy a 3/8-16x1 with continuous thread since the stock screw is only threaded on the lower half. I discovered that the Vanguard screw has the flat head of a 1/4-20 but the stem of a 3/8-16. So the American 3/8-16 head will not fit on the SBH-250 stem even if the screw fits. Although tightening it was enough...I still used the 3 screws that bite a little on the ball head stem to make sure it will never twist. Build-quality is very good. The clamp doesn't need to be excessively tightened. I also used a blue Permatex threadlocker for added security. When the knob stops moving, my L-bracket is secured. This is a very good product that I believe can outlast me in this lifetime if cared properly. And Wimberley made the mount versatile enough that I can transfer this product to future ball heads as long as companies will still make Arca plates. Which makes it a very, very good deal if you only need to buy this once in a lifetime. Some people think that its a con of this product for not having a spirit level. It doesn't affect me because most QR clamps that have built-in levels out there have their bubbles placed in awkward spots that get covered when the camera is already sitting on the clamps. And I prefer hot-shoe level because in my opinion is the best spot for a level. Great product!
