The Oben QR-30 Quick Release Plate is a replacement camera plate that fits the Arca-type quick release element of Oben's BC-139, BC-166, BB-2, BB-2T, BC-2 & BC-2T ball head models. For camera stability, the top of the plate features a rubberized surface. Two studs on the bottom of the plate help prevent the camera and plate from sliding all the way forward or backward out of the ball head, in case the head's clamp is inadvertently left loose.

how wide is the base?I am tightening this into a RRS clamp...I need a 1.58 width...It is being secured under the base on the new Nikon s 80-400 lens.
The mount insert is 1.40in square. The tripod receiver is 1.42in (square also). If your tripod receiver is morethan, say, 1.43in, it'll not work.

Are these still made with the allen head on the bolt? My QR-40 shows the allen head on the Web site but came with a combination D-ring and slotted head.
I got one in February, 2017 and it came with the same D-ring thumb screw that is on the QR-40 that came with my ball head. I see no difference between the QR-30 and QR-40.
