Small and sturdy with parts that can be adjusted or even replaced. This was an investment after too many cheap stands that broke. I was truly impressed at the quality of the Matthews MERF Stand. The feel and secure grip is awesome. I'll be adding a few more of these to my travel kit.

Solid and compact. What you’d expect from Matthews. I looked at other compact Amazon stands but sprung for these. I think it’s a buy once cry once situation. Also clients expect me to show up with decent gear. They know what pro gear looks like- and even though these fold down compact, they still feel like pro gear. Only thing Id change is that I wish the nobs were metal, and not plastic.

What is the minimum operating height for this stand? Obviously the “folded” length is 20”, but not operating height unless the legs expanded flat to the floor.

The minimum height with the legs splayed out as far as they will go and none of the extensions raised is 20". The folded height is also 20".

The Matthews MERF Mini Extendable Reverse Stand would work well for holding an Aputure 60d light; it might work as a boom for a very lightweight mic, but putting weight on the legs would be a good idea.
