CEV allows for a visual look at exposure in the frame. The IRE rating for normal exposure is 56 IRE and this is shown as pink in the frame. Similarly an overexposed frame of a rating above 101 IRE will be shown in red or yellow on the SolarHD 7S monitor if the image is too bright, and under exposed areas will be shown as blue to dark blue depending on the IRE rating.
Peaking filter enhances the sharpness of video images. In blue only mode, the blue pixels of a display render the picture on the screen, and areas with blue in it appear bright, while those without blue appear dark or black. The underscan mode of the SolarHD 7S 7" monitor displays the full video frame, which reveals content on the edges that is recorded but not shown on the LCD screen.
The SolarHD 7S monitor has a high contrast ratio of 400:1, which supports a high picture resolution, and at full brightness, the monitor consumes a maximum of 13.68 W. The SolarHD 7S is lightweight at 2.2 lbs and is powered by a 10 to 30 VDC battery. The monitor contains buttons in front to adjust contrast, color, brightness, and tint.
