Key Features
  • Archival Quality Storage
  • Dual Built-in Recording Drives
  • 1000-Year Recorded Disc Life
  • 100-Disc Capacity
When government institutions, businesses and consumers need to permanently archive large quantities of digital information, the BravoPro Xi2 Archive Disc Publisher from Primera is the ultimate solution. This disc publisher automates the process of producing archival discs.

The Bravo Xi2 utilizes dedicated CD and DVD media called M-Discs which, unlike regular CD and DVD discs that use an organic dye layer, use synthetic materials that are similar to stone, according to Primera. This makes the discs able to withstand environments that are hostile to regular discs, such as prolonged exposure in direct sunlight. The usable life of recorded discs is a projected 1000 years or more.

The BravoPro Xi2 Archive Disc publisher has storage capacity of 100 discs and features two M-Writer drives from Millenniata which speed production. The M-Writer drive uses a higher laser power to carve grooves in the M-Discs advanced materials which are unaffected by the elements. Once written, the M-Disc is readable in current DVD players making access to information safe and reliable.

The included software is compatible with Mac and Windows operating systems and makes it fast and easy to archive photos, videos, documents, audio and music and virtually any other digital information.

Note:
The BravoPro Xi2 Archive Publisher will not burn standard CDs or DVDs
Government institutions, businesses and consumers need to permanently archive large quantities of digital information. The integrity of the stored information and the confidence that the data will be available when needed is paramount. The long term ramifications of losing critical data could have dramatic and far reaching consequences.
A comprehensive Software Developer's Kit (SDK) is available at no charge. The SDK makes it easy for developers to integrate Primera disc publishers into applications such as video and film archiving, Digital Asset Management (DAM), document and medical imaging and much more.
The Primera Bravo Archive series does not use traditional blank CD and DVD discs. Instead, it uses a new type of disc called an M-Disc. The M-Disc is a proprietary technology developed by Utah-based Millenniata, Inc., which has partnered with Primera in developing the Bravo Archive line.
A unique aspect of the M-Disc is that it uses a much more powerful laser than the ones found in typical CD/DVD duplicators and burners. Millenniata claims that this method of recording information produces sharper pits and grooves in the data layer, which will not be susceptible to degradation.
While it requires a special drive to record the information, the M-Disc media can be played back on nearly every standard DVD drive, video player, or computer. The discs are available with or without a printable surface, depending on the user's needs.
The M-Disc does not have special storage requirements. This permanent storage solution allows organizations to keep physical copies of their digital information on-hand or wherever necessary without the concern of the environment corrupting the data. The result is easily accessible archived data, confidence that digital information will be available when needed, and reduced energy costs for data storage.
M-discs discs cannot be altered once created, adding certainty of data integrity. The M-Writer drive is compatible with existing DVD authoring software. Information can also be encrypted at whatever strength is dictated by organizational security standards. M-discs do not degrade over time so organizations can have confidence that critical information will be available for any critical application.
Millenniata archive solutions provide new safeguards to meet the most demanding chain of custody requirements. Digital information stored on M-Discs is permanent so the risk of losing evidentiary information due to the age of the media or environmental factors decreases dramatically. Each disc can be serialized saving information on who and when the copy was made, thereby becoming part of the evidence log. Once the M-Disc has been written, it is tamper proof thus protecting the integrity of the data and the admissibility of digital evidence.
The BravoPro Xi2 comes with easy-to-use software to keep production flowing. It includes Primera's PTPublisher for Windows XP, Windows Vista and Windows 7 with SureThing Primera Edition design software. It also comes with PTPublisher for Mac OS X v10.5 or higher with Disc Cover design software for Mac.
