  • Audio-Technica BP4073 Line and Gradient Condenser Microphone

The BP4073 Line and Gradient Condenser Microphone from Audio-Technica is a lightweight directional shotgun microphone. It can be used to capture audio in various environments for speech and audio applications such as feature film, broadcast TV, or sound for video productions.

The microphone measures 9.17" in length, and weighs 3.5 oz making it ideal for long-term use on a boompole or handheld mount. Featuring a frequency response of 20 Hz to 20 kHz, a line + gradient pickup pattern, and low noise, the BP4073 shotgun microphone delivers transparent audio reproduction. Also, an 80 Hz hi-pass filter switch minimizes low-frequency noise and ambiance, while a 10 dB pad switch provides added headroom when capturing transient (peak) audio signals.

The BP4073 is RoHS compliant, which means it is free from all substances in the EU directive on the reduction of hazardous substances. The microphone is built tuff in a rugged housing made of a lightweight structural-grade aluminum alloy. In addition, it includes an AT8405a stand clamp for a 5/8"-27 threaded microphone stand, a 5/8"-27 to 3/8"-16 threaded adapter, an AT8144 foam windscreen, two rubber O-Rings, and a protective carrying case.

  • Kopul Premium Performance 3000 Series XLR M to Angled XLR F Microphone Cable - 1.5' (0.45 m), Black

The black Kopul Premium Performance 3000 Series XLR M to Angled XLR F Microphone Cable (1.5') is designed to be an extremely quiet and flexible cable that is ideal for the most demanding live sound and performance applications. The cable is engineered to be durable and to provide protection against EMI, RFI, and static noise.

Premium Performance 3000 Series cables are made from 24 AWG OFC copper wire that's wrapped with PE insulation and a conductive PVC inner shield. A cotton-yarn inner layer helps reduce electrostatic and microphonic noise. 95% dual-spiral shielding makes the cable resistant to EMI and RFI noise. The Neutrik XX silver connectors provide a high level of connectivity, and all the solder connections are shrink-wrapped for protection.

95% dual-spiral shielding offers protection from EMI and RFI noise.
Twin-conductive PVC inner shielding provides 100% coverage of the core conductor. It helps keep the cable's signal from radiating and affecting nearby cables, and also helps prevent external EMI from penetrating to the cable's core.
24 AWG oxygen-free stranded copper inner core provides the best possible conductivity.
Cotton yarn reduces electrostatic and microphonic noise.
All solder points shrink-wrapped for protection.
Neutrik XX silver connectors offer high conductivity.
Caged type contact and improved ground contact.

Audio-Technica BP4073 reviews

BP4073 Shotgun Microphone Kit is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 1.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Professional Low end Mic I am giving this product 5 stars based on price vs performance. This mic has the hottest signal of all the boom mics I am aware of. The reason this is important is because every db of extra output results in a db of S/N improvement at your preamp stage. The sound is smooth with a slight rise in the upper mid region which results in a perfect 'forward voicing' pickup. This is a great sounding mic. I would place this mic between a Rode NTG3 and the Neumann 416. Forgiving and smooth like the Rode but, slightly less presence than the 416. I own a 416 and could gladly live with the 4073 if that was my only option.
