Well Made

Nice metal construction. Mounts solidly to the window. Does provide some damping in the vertical, less in the horizontal. As good a design as possible for this type of support. Obviously not as good as a tripod on solid ground.

Would this support a 90 d & tamron 150-600 g2 without damaging unit or window?
Asked by: Allan
I've used this window mount with my 5d and same Tamron lens but its a lot of weight on the window. If you bump the setup it could crack the window glass. It's doable but you have to be real careful.

Shown on the quick release plate are two knobs. one for screwing on the camera, but what is the other knob?
Asked by: Charles
Not sure about cameras, but spotting scopes that this can be used for have a second hole that the "pin" goes into to prevent the scope from turning on top of the quick-release plate.

question

Can the 3-way head be removed and replaced with another head of my own? If replaceable what is the size of screw used to join the head to the base clamp? 1/4 or 3/8 ?
Asked by: Anonymous
I dont think so. The thumb screw puts friction tension on the joint to lock it down when you get the rotating pan orientation you want. I just tried to tighten it down and then spun the head backward and it did not unscrew.

how do I attach the QS-36 quick release plate to the PH-304 window mount?
Asked by: Joan
In the picture on this site you see a "lever" behind the plate. Flipping the lever to the left release the plate. Put the plate in the opening and close the lever and it locks the plate in place.
