Rode MICON CABLE 1.2M Reviews

A expensive cable for what it does

While this cable is nice a thin, it is proprietary and in turn expensive. The cables durability does seem good however. But is not really reinforced properly in my view. The cable is reinforced with a hard plastic. But it should be made of rubber to help the cable bend rather then kinking it.

This is a Must Have Item

Having the added length gives you freedom of movement and placement. It almost makes you wonder why they don't encourage that you buy this or bundle it up with microphones. It is easy to use and like I said, having the ability to have the extra length to work with makes placement of the microphone much easier.

Rode HS1-B

I picked up a pair of used HS1-B's bring the total I own to 5. I find the 4' cable is good for these mics. I am now using them with Maxwell radios for crew communication. By putting a 2.5 to 3.5 adapter in the Maxwell, I can power up the Rode headsets. They are light and can are comfortable under headsets. The Maxwell can plug into one ear of a headset with a simple Y connector, leaving the other port on the Y for the shoot sound monitoring.

Not an easy replacement for Filmmaker Kit Cord

I bought this because the cord on my Rode filmmaker kit was shorting out. I read a review saying someone else just replaced the cord. Unless they cut and soldered the cord, I'm not sure how they did this. I really wish Rode would make the mic cord interchangeable since they short out constantly and the only option is to buy a new mic that's basically the price of the whole kit.

Replaced a very high mileage cord!

I bought this to replace the cord on my Rode Lavalier that I used a few times a week and lasted a few years, the cord was looking bad and showing some threads bit still worked great. I have two Rode mics and love them both.

question

I have a Rodelink wireless lab system. Is this the correct cable to replace the included cable with the Rodelink? I seem to have damaged mine and it is out of the warranty period.
Asked by: John
I believe you are referring to Lav system, this is the cable between the Lav Microphone and the Rodelink box. I suggest you buy 2 of these, one to use and one for a spare as they do get damaged and quit.
