- GPS: 16-Channel
- Links Up and Downloads Automatically
The SkySync GPS Accessory from Celestron boasts a 16-channel GPS module. It will improve the accuracy of your initial star alignments thereby gaining more precise go-to movements as you view the night sky. It will save you the time and hassle of trying to align your scope for the night's sky-watching.
More DetailsSimply strap the unit onto a leg of your telescope's tripod and connect the SkySync to your telescope's drive base auxiliary port or to your telescope's hand controller. The SkySync GPS Accessory will do the rest. The SkySync will link up and automatically download the exact time, date, longitude and latitude from one of the many global positioning satellites.

Will this work well with the Celestron Starsense Auto align? As of now, even with the Starsense, auto alignments seem a tad off(could be user error with location/date/time). Thanks.
Yes. The Celestron SkySync GPS Accessory is compatible with the Star Sense Auto Align. There is an option in the menu to enable the GPS. Go to the Time and Location menu, select the submenu called Time/Loc Source.

Good day all!,
On the front of the module I see the AUX port- what is the other spot to the right of that for.
Next, does a person need to have any kind of a subscription to a GPS service for this to work?
Also, it says that it can be connected to the hand controller. When using the StarSense hand controller. On the bottom of the HC, it is a Mini B port. Where can a person find an adaptor or cable to make this connection? Or is it that the HC connects into the GPS module and then the module into the telescope mount?
Thanks!
Next to the AUX port is the power indicator light. You do not need to subscribe to a GPS service to use the SkySync GPS Accessory with your telescope. Plug your StarSense hand controller into your telescope's HC port, while the SkySync is connected to the telescope's AUX port.
