BAD COPY? NOT THE PRECISION NEEDED

I returned it. Why? Because the Flange Focal Length of Sony E-mount is 18.00 mm. The same for Leica is 27.8 mm. That means the adapter must be 9.80 mm thick so that when I put the lens at infinity focus against the hard stop, the image is focused at infinity. This demands a high precision. My copy was perhaps too far out of tolerance on the thin side. Infinity focus was more like 5 meters. This photographer likes to turn the lens focus to infinity and know that it's there without looking, that's how you keep manual focus lens ready everyday carry. I expected better precision from a $200 item, it had so many good reviews.

Leica lenses like quality adapters. The cheap Chinese just won't do. Worth the price of admission.

Yes, the Novoflex Adapter for Leica M to Sony NEX cameras is compatible with all Sony E mount cameras, including the A7 series.

I read on online forums about light leaks and Leica M lenses not performing well on Sony A7 cameras. Namely, having heavy vignetting. Is it true?

As long as the Lecia M mount lenses are full frame it will work well on the Sony A7 series cameras with using the Novoflex Adapter for Leica M Lens to Sony NEX Camera. And it should not vignette with most model lenses.

The Cooke M Mount for SP3 Primes will fit into the Novoflex Adapter for Leica M Lens to Sony NEX Camera. You need to be careful that the lenses do not protrude too far; they might hit the inside of the camera.
