The MuxLab 500026 MonoPro XLR (Female) transmits standard AES analog up to 5000’ (1.5km) via Cat 5 and digital audio up to 1400’ (426m) via Cat5e/6. It features a heavy-duty cable strain relief for harsh environments and locking XLR3-F connectors for providing versatile cabling solution. As the wires terminate inside the balun, the MonoPro XLR can be used as a solderless connection point for standard shielded audio cable.

    Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works great I bought both this and the XLR male side, so this review is for both items. In short they work great, I've used some older audio to UTP adapters in the past with good results but they were for unbalanced connectors and were clunky. These have good build quality, and have a terminal style connect for the UTL cable, requiring only 1 pair of wires. I just put a couple of RJ45 ends on both sides as that suited my needs, but its nice to have the option to just go straight to whatever wire you are using. In this case I was working on an install where the original integrators thought it would be a good idea to run all their audio right on top of power, so I needed another way to feed audio from one side of a building to another. Running new cable was not an option, but luckily there was a spare cat5e cable which I was able to use and patch throughout the building to where the feed was needed. Using these adapters cleared up a long standing sound quality issue and left everyone very happy with the solution. For reference the total length of the cable used was around 500'.
