The Vello 1/4"-20 Camera Screw - 11mm Long (2-Pack) provides two screws that can be used to secure your camera to a tripod, or to attach accessories for a DSLR rig system, using the 1/4"-20 thread. Each screw has a 1/4"-20 male thread stud on top, a 1/4"-20 female thread on the bottom and a knurled plastic knob for tightening. Each screw is 11mm (0.43") long.

Do they make these things with threads the whole way up? I just bought a revo skate dolly that has a very similar camera screw, but I can't put a fluid head on it because the whole thing just spins.
I am sorry - I have not been able to locate a similar part with continuous threading all the way up to the knob.

Yes, theses Vello 1/4"-20 Camera Screw Kit (6 Screws Total) are supposed to fit snug not leave any gaps.

What is the thickness of the plastic knob? I assume that the 11mm spec is the length of the metal screw. I need a spacer to raise a camera a few mm above the tripod mounting plate.
By memory, I believe it it similar to stacking four quarter coins on top of each other. Hope that helps.
