question

Would you recommend this microphone over the AT2050? I have the AT2050, but I want a better overall mic, I am also planning on getting a better preamp or to get a mixer instead.
Asked by: Justin
The AT2050 is a fine microphone but I'll give RODE the edge here. 10 year warranty too!

The new SMR offers a new, more advanced design that is easier to set-up and use and will offer superior performance in many applications over the SM6 included in this kit..

The Rode NT2-A does require phantom power to operate. It can be connected to a recorder like the Zoom H4n which offers XLR inputs and phantom power.
