Can I use the Basic wireless and off-camera and still have TTL control?
Yes you can,however you will need a TTL cord from your camera manufacturer so the camera can communicate with the flash.I am a Nikon Photographer the cord for me would be the SC-29 I am not sure about Canon.

Will this work with the Turbo and/or Turbo Z batteries?
Yes, I use mine with the old, classic Turbo battery and it works fine.
