This is definitely more seamless than the white paper and it is much larger shooting space. You can fit a whole family on this back ground for family portraits. I use a lint roller to pick up and excess dirt or debris. If you need to you can also just toss it in the washing machine for a good cleaning. I usually just make sure my client wipe their feet on some clean towels before they step on this background with shoes. I can't see it being easily torn at all. You'd would have to be really rough or careless with it in order to do that. All in all I love this background.

It is a thin, light weight (a few lbs., total) but opaque material. It fits in a provided carry bag where bunched up it takes the size a little larger than a basketball.

I would not want to cut because it might need to be wider at another time. I used plastic clamps attached to the stand to make the fabric taunt and smooth. Just hanging down, it was not smooth. I would think you could fold it and then clamp. If you decide to cut, you just need to finish the seam. It is thick and stretchy fabric.

The fleece background is not as smooth as paper but is a lot easier to carry to a location shoot than a 9 foot seamless roll. I use it to make background removal easier. If your subject is a few feet from the background, the texture won't show.
