    Shure SE215 reviews

    SE215 Sound-Isolating In-Ear Stereo Earphones (Clear) is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 220.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from The most durable in-ear headphones on the market I was initially skeptical about these. It took a few days to get used to putting them in my ears without thinking about it, but once I got passed that, I realized the design is really incredible. They are far and away the most durable in-ear headphones I've owned and I've own many. The sound quality is pretty good. You're getting what you pay for there. But again, there's really nothing more frustrating than owning a pretty decent pair of in-ear headphones only to have them short out after 6 months because of a poorly designed connection form the cable to the ear bud. You won't have that issue with these. They will last.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Nice Earbuds So I went to these after my dog ate my Klipsch Image S4s. While these definitely have more presence than the Image S4 (larger driver), I was slightly underwhelmed. My hiphop definite sounds better because soundstage and clarity doesn't really matter. But when you are listening to vocals or jazz, the highs are just too muddled. The lows are heavy handed and linger and tend to drown out the already lacking highs. So, if all you listen to is dubstep and hiphop, grab them! Certainly better than Beats or Boses. If you want something more musical, I'd have to say skip. I would recommend them with these reservations. Also, they are really hard to put on...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Shure SE215 headphones, a great choice! I use these headphones primarily for playing on my church's worship band. They do a really great job blocking out all of the external sound while allowing me to clearly hear my monitor mix. I also use them to listen to music while mowing. The sound quality is better than your average Apple earbuds but is nothing compared to headphones with multiple drivers. I love how these fit in my ears. It takes a few times putting them in to get the hang of it but after that, the fit is sung and I can wear these for hours with no discomfort. For anyone looking for noise isolating headphones with good sound, the Shure SE215 are a great budget choice.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Junk that breaks Headphone driver broke after 1 year on my first pair and 1.5 years on the second (and this appears to be super common from other reviews). I tried to return my second pair for warranty repair and shure refused to pay for return shipment and insists you use UPS or FedEx to return (costing $25) which is ridiculous. I used USPS since one earphone isn't worth $25 and the envelope allegedly tore and lost one of the two earphones and and thus shure refused to repair it. DO NOT BUY THESE perhaps shure makes better high end headphones but after two pairs of these broke and had terrible customer service I will not be giving this company any more business.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Disappointed After purchasing I tried them out and found My initial reaction was they sounded superb even though the fit would take some getting used to and was anxious to see how they performed on the plane.I was amazed how good they sounded and really pleased that I couldn't even hear the engine noise at half level. I was confident I made the right choice. Less than a month later and only my second time using them ( i bought them mainly for travel) the left ear plug was very low to the point I would have to take the right one to check it was on at all. So needless to say I am completely disappointed. I am yet to contact Shure and see if they will refund or replace them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I love these! I needed a pair of headphones or earbuds, whichever would cancel sound and sound awesome, and my friend told me about these and said it was the best $ he ever spent (and that's saying a lot from him). I travel on airplanes and ride shotgun for long hours at a time being forced to listen to things other than my music. These have fulfilled all my expectations in both sound quality and sound canceling (haven't tried the rubber, but the foam works excellent). I'll admit its a little funny at first to try and put them on, but once you figure out how the wires go over the back of your ears and it rests inside, you're set.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great sounding IEM with sound isolation I use for live performance with my ableton rig. Transparent sound over entire freq spectrum and sound isolation is also a plus. Work best when properly seated in ear--take a minute to read instructions and experiment with best fit. Additional foam inserts (S-M_L) come with phones. Other reviewers mention the need to adjust EQ settings--flat worked very well for me--experiment to achieve the desired result. Bass response is best when properly fitted. 6 foot cable and carrying case provided with phones, Extension cable recommneded if monitoring source is not on your person, or nearby.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Smooth & Warm, yet lacking in the highs If you are looking for a smooth and warm presentation without harsh treble or overwhelming detail, then the SE215 is a very good in ear headphone. I consider this headphone forgiving. While not for bass-heads, the bass was fairly tight and more than enough for me. However, coming from a headphone such as the AKG 501 or AKG 701 or even the Koss Earclips. I missed the lack of treble clarity. However, these are over the ear headphones which cost much more money and have more presence and detail. I listen to a lot of acoustic Jazz with drums and found that I just wasn't hearing the cymbals, hi-hat or brush work in the mix. I have heard the sure SE450 which takes care of this problem, but unfortunately is far more expensive. As far as build is concerned, the cables are quite well made and I didn't notice much micro-phonics. However, although I was able to get a good seal, I'm not a fan of wearing the cable over my ears. Overall, a well made smooth and warm iem which if that's what you want is most certainly worth checking out. I'm hoping I can find something that has more high end extension and detail without being harsh in the same price range.
