- True Omnidirectional
- Class-A Design
The KSM141/SL ST PAIR from Shure is a stereo pair of switchable-polar-pattern condenser studio microphones designed for instrument recording and sound reinforcement. The capsule's pattern is switchable between omnidirectional and cardioid pick up. Omnidirectional offers a more generous pickup area while cardioid offers attenuation of noise and ambiance at the off-axis sections of the microphone. In addition, the microphone offers a wide 20 Hz to 20 kHz frequency response making it a flexible solution for a variety of applications. The KSM141/SL's element features a permanently biased transducer design resulting in clean, accurate signal reproduction and frequency response. The transformerless Class-A output circuitry provides a noise-free-output signal path while maintaining high gain levels.

What could I use for wind protection for this? Something like a rycote is preferred.
If being used on stereo bar for a Spaced Pair or ORTF setup, you could use two of the Rycote Baby Ball Gag's and their additional windjammers, B&H # RYBBG20 and BH #RYBBGWJ. If looking to do an XY inside of a blimp, the closest option we offer is the Rycote Stereo Cyclone Kit 1,B&H # RYCXYK1. However please note it is sized for a 3'' in length mic and the KSM are 5.75'' and may not fit properly.

How does the KSM141/SL ST pair differ from the previous KSM141/ST pair?
Thank you, Lisa, for your rapid response.
Might you say whether the "no difference" is based on your personal (informed [no offense intended]) consideration, or information from Shure?
Thank you.
