Spider Camera Holster Black Widow Thin Plate

Thank you Daniel - We would recommend using the SpiderPro v2 plate for this battery grip (the 14/20" thread location is towards the back and so needs a bigger plate/area ). As said in the comments, the BW thin plate is not designed and will not do welll for this application. Hi Nicholas, For any DSLR/lens combo, we recommend our SpiderPro Single Cam System. This is the best and most comfortable way to handle this typoe of weight. If you wish to carry a DSLR body and LIGHT lens, then purchase the SpiderPro Plate alone - this plate is compatible with your Black Widow Holster. I purchased my plate some time ago. Mine DID NOT come with the pin. I would contact B&H if that will be a problem for you. I have ALWAYS gotten good information from their staff. They should include this information in the In the Box section.) Mine did have a bolt to attach my pin to the plate. While it may seem expensive, it is made out of stainless steel and it is really more complex than it appears. The plate will reposition the pin on the camera somewhat. This is a very individual thing, but for me the system worked better with the plate. I am fairly tall and tend to carry my second body slightly in front of my left pocket. I am a bit of a minimalist and usually carry one full frame body and three primes OR two zooms using a belt pack and Blackrapid strap. I use the Spyder system when I need more reach with a DX camera (D7100) with a 70-300mm lens. (I usually don t carry the second body.) I NEVER use the jaws of life when I attach the pin to the camera so not to damage the tripod socket. With the plate you tighten the QR plate which in my case doesn't require a wrench. Trying to board an airplaine with a wrench is sometimes, not always, problematic. Good luck.
