Your 8-15mm cannot live without it.

The bulbous front element of the EF 18-15mm f/4L, like a baby, needs constant protection. This cap is it. When I am out and about, this cap stays on the lens at all times. When I shoot, I hold the cap in hand and replace it the moment I lower the camera. So far so good after four years. However, the reason I had to get a replacement is that I find the Canon design for holding the cap on to be finicky. When I put it back on, I normally tug it firmly to make sure. Often, one side does not catch. Apparently, that is what caused me to lose the first one. Hopefully, I will be more diligent and this is the last one.
Didn't know it was included with the lens

If I had known it was included with the lens I wouldn't have ordered it.
