    Cinevate Inc CIADAS000K17 reviews

CIADAS000K17 Follow Focus Gear Ring is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 7.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good Design, but Tricky to use This is a great design, as it fits nearly all lenses thanks to the five sets of spokes (which are usually sold separately). The offset of the holes is great, and the rubber tipped spokes work well. Sturdy build quality. It's also nice that it uses spokes, which are narrow, so it works even on lenses with narrow focus rings. The big drawback, though, is getting all six of the spokes even on the ring. If you don't, it starts to slip on the follow focus. This can be tricky in a calm environment, so it may not be ideal for a fast run and gun situation. You also have to be careful to not over-tighten the spokes with a plastic lens, though, because it's easy to bend the focus ring (it wasn't a big deal, the focus ring went right back to its original shape with no damage). Overall a great product though.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Bad craftsmanship and difficult to use!!!! I would love to give this a higher rating because it is good in theory but bad in reality. It is just a bad product. - The screws will destroy any rubber lens grip you have. (There goes that Nikkor 28mm 2.8 lens grip!) - It is incredibly difficult to get perfectly straight, which makes focusing rough. - It is solid plastic so it can be loud when focusing. It should have a softer rubber exterior for smooth quiet focus! The only pro about it is how big and wide it is.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from This is useful Giyapodishon change. This lens(Canon EF16-35mm F2.8) has a very forward the focus-ring. Genus DSLR Matte Box and Edelkrone FOCUSONE PRO can interfere for that. Therefore, can not use them at the same time. This product can be dropped behind the focus-ring. And can use them at the same time. There is no joint in gear, it's very useful for me. But, it is difficult to take the center is subtle.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from You need patience and time, but it's worth it First off, I really like these gears, they help make everything pretty standardized on my prime set, making lens changes quick. Also they give you a lot more precision in terms of throw if you use small diameter lenses. (Vintage Nikkor AI/AIS are what I've modded with them.) Now, if you don't have patience or intend to buy a ring to switch off quickly between lenses, these are not for you. It will take you some time and tinkering to get the balance in the spokes just right. So it's a one ring to one lens sort of thing, but once they are on, you're gold, no slip at all. I will note that I have re-adjusted my rings a few times to get them just right and none of them have damaged my rubberized focus rings. You'd have to majorly overtighten them, which you should notice as the gear would start bending. (Also Nylon Tips on the spokes.) If you're into DIY or Modding these will give you a real no slip sturdy experience.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Best ring once you get it balanced It takes a bit of time to get it perfectly in the center but once it is, it's the best. Solid construction and the gear pitch will never change unlike gear rings that wrap around different size lenses. All your lenses' gear rings become the same so you dont have to change your follow focus every time you switch lenses.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Does the job! Simply awesome - does what it needs to do. Tried other rings of various incarnations, got two of these to test and found our solution. Thanks Cinevate.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good gear These are seem less. Wide gear and they are flexible to mount on even small lens
