Excuse me if this a stupid question but what are spokes?

The spokes are there to allow you to tighten down the gear around the focus wheel.

There are different types of this ring for sale, which one will fit the diameter of a Canon 70-200mm 2.8? B&H says the diameter is 3.5 inches. Thanks for your help!
Asked by: Graham
The ring comes with different length screws to hold the lens so his should fit your 70-200 fine

so i got it right? i get 5 sets of spokes, each set contains 6 spokes (5x6)=30 spokes i get?And how do i tighten them on the focus, are there screws included?
Asked by: Anonymous
When I got mine, I got 5 little baggies, each with a different set of spoke in varying lengths. The spokes are threaded and an Allen wrench is included for tightening them down against the focus ring of whichever lens I put this on.
