A dual watch monitoring feature will check for any activity on 2 channels. There are 387 privacy codes, giving you up to 5560 channel options to block other conversations.

The Midland GXT1000VP4 2-Way Compact Communication Radios are best suited for outdoor use. I would recommend (for starters) a Kenwood # KEPKT23K which can operate in a steel and/or concrete reinforced building, with a working range of up to 225,000 sq.ft.

Be sure you are on a GMRS only channel - channels 8 through 14
are restricted by the FCC to low power.
Note : You cannot adjust the power setting on channels 8
through 14. These channels are set to Low power per FCC !regulations.
