The Manfrotto 299B Baby Studio Stand is a smooth running studio performer with low profile base that slips easily into position on the set. It has a Baby (5/8") top stud and free-running wheels with positive locking brakes. The 299B rises to a maximum height of 8.9’ (2.7 m), supporting equipment up to 26.4 lb (12 kg). Not only is the flat base space efficient and easy to sandbag, but it has a leveling leg, which extends to stabilize its load when used on uneven terrain.

With this stand can I get my light down to the floor? because I know you can do it with the column stand, but I don't have enough height in my studio for that stand
Mount a baby pin in a [manfrotto] superclamp to position your lighting anywhere on the column you want. Add a magic arm... attach a matthews gobo arm/magic finger assembly, a matthews superflex arm... The ceiling's the limit. Or use a quality tubing cutter to trim the top of the manfrotto column stand you mentioned...
