I am in love with this stand! It moves freely, can take the weight of my light and huge octobox, and slides so effortlessly up and down. The knobs are top rated. Don't hesitate buy this stand!

Very nice but not what I asked for

The stand is wonderful, very sturdy, moves nicely, is not that heavy, it folds easily. The thing is that I asked for a stand that can have a 7' parabolic umbrella down to the floor, several assistant told me this would do that and it didn't. The umbrella doesn't go all the way down and doesn't touch the floor as I asked; in fact is missing at list 50 cm to do that. So it is a very nice stand, but not for newborn photography

With this stand can I get my light down to the floor? because I know you can do it with the column stand, but I don't have enough height in my studio for that stand
Asked by: Erika
Mount a baby pin in a [manfrotto] superclamp to position your lighting anywhere on the column you want. Add a magic arm... attach a matthews gobo arm/magic finger assembly, a matthews superflex arm... The ceiling's the limit. Or use a quality tubing cutter to trim the top of the manfrotto column stand you mentioned...
