The CBP-N2 Compact Battery Pack from Bolt will boost the number of flashes and the recycle time of your compatible SB-900, SB-910, and SB-5000 flash. The CBP-N2 can operate on four or eight AA batteries--alkaline, lithium, or nickel-hydride (NiMH). Lights on the pack indicate Standby, Recycle, or Low Power mode. A thermal protection switch prevents overheating. The CBP-N2 can provide up to 577 flashes per charge, and recycle times as fast as 1.92 seconds. The pack, which weighs just 7 oz without the batteries, can also be attached to the bottom of your camera using the tripod socket.

It is not compatible with the SB800. Bolt used to have a unit but it is discontinued and no longer available.

The Phottix Mitros TTL flash comes with an adapter that allows you to use the Phottix battery, the Nikon battery and the bolt battery.

no. the SB800 is slightly different. i owned both the 800 and 900 and needed separate battery packs.

What are the recycle times when there are 4 Ni-MH batteries in the battery pack? When there are 8 batteries?The Product Highlights list at the top says, Fast Recycle Times Up to 1.24 Sec. The product description below says, Recycles as fast as 1.92 seconds (with 4x AA alkaline batteries in flash unit and 8x Ni-MH batteries in Compact Battery Pack).So is it 1.24 seconds or 1.92 seconds?
I have been using this unit now with my SB900 and SB800 and I am very satisfied with the recycle speed. For shorter recycle time, reduce flash output power.
