Lowepro 200 AW Overview

  • 1Description

The orange Photo Sport 200 AW Backpack from Lowepro is a lightweight pack designed for heavyweight outdoor action and manufactured to handle a rugged trail race, mountain bike outing or photo trek up a local peak. Made from triple rip stop nylon, the Photo Sport 200 not only holds your DSLR with attached lens, but a flash as well in its dedicated Ultra-Cinch Camera Chamber side-access pocket. This Chamber compliments the dual compartment approach to the pack that permits you to carry both clothes, food and camera gear.

The Photo Sport 200 can instantly become a shooter's pack. Quickly rotate pack to the front, unzip the pocket, access your camera that is stored in shooting position, pull it out, get the shot, stuff it back inside and you're back on the trail ready to tackle the next pitch. For the hiking part, multiple attachment points on the pack permit you to secure everything from ski poles to jackets, hats, cell phones, keys or a decent-sized pack of trail mix to keep you going.

Adjustable shoulder straps and a padded waist belt keep it squarely on your back while a molded back pad offers more than sufficient airflow to keep you cool and comfortable on the trail. The water-resistant 70D nylon exterior keeps your contents dry but in case you get caught in a rain or snow squall, simply deploy the built-in rain fly that will encase the pack for even more protection. If you're a night person, you'll find reflective piping on the pack so you'll be able to be seen on the trail or road.

Additional front and side storage pockets will hold your maps, water bottles, gloves - whatever support gear you have. And speaking of water, there is also a hydration pocket that can hold an optional reservoir so you'll never have to worry about being thirsty on the trail. Backed by Lowepro's limited lifetime warranty, the Photo Sport 200 AW is well-named since it allows you to get out there on the trail to get the "photo", while also allowing you to engage in the serious pursuit of "sport".

    Lowepro 200 AW Reviews

Photo Sport 200 AW Backpack (Orange) is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 216.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Functional for Active Photographers This pack does a great job filling that void between packs to haul camera gear and packs for active endeavors. Being hydration campatible is a huge plus eliminating the need to lug around water bottles. The space for the hydration bladder also holds a small computer when not being used making it great for the airport. This bag has easily carried my 7D with a 24-105 attached as well as a 70-200 f4. I can also fit lots of other gear for the back country. So far I have used this to mountain bike, travel through airports and hike the Arizona desert. I wil be taking it to the mountains soon and have great confoidence in it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Little Backpack I needed a DSLR backpack small and compact enough for biking and urban hiking, with plenty of room for a change of clothes, snacks, and other non-photo gear, and without that awful photo bag look. This pack fits the bill exactly. It has a surprising amount of space, fits comfortably, and is attractive. The hydration compartment is a nice touch. I typically carry only one camera with attached lens, and occasionally one other lens. If you need a bag designed to carry and protect multiple lenses, flashes, and other accessories, this may not be the bag for you.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Small but sturdy I bought this for a trip to Iceland, both because it is small enough to carry on the plane, and has extra space for jacket, gloves, etc when I get there. The biggest downside is the padded side cinch sac is too small for a canon 5d mk II with battery grip, and 24-105 lens. I can make it fit by disconnecting the lens, but what's the point? When I need to get my camera out in a hurry I don't want to be pawing through 2different compartments getting my gear together. It's especially disappointing because only about 1 more inch of space would make it big enough. On the pro side, I love the fabric, and the idea of spare space for things besides camera equipment. Would be great for someone with smaller camera.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect bag for the photographer who hikes! I used this bag on several hikes in Norway (including the famous Trolltunga) and it was perfect!! It held everything I needed (and more). It was really great that I didn't need to take the bag completely off every time I wanted to access the camera compartment. Plus the water pouch was perfect for my 1L bladder. The best part though was it is comfortable and the waist belt makes it so that all the weight is off you shoulder and feels basically weightless. Before purchasing it, I was worried that it might be too big for me because I'm short (5'1) but it fits great!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Too Large for Small Body Frame It's a nice daypack for a man or someone with a large torso. For me, being only 5'3, this bag is way too long. It is uncomfortable to hike with, especially loaded down with everything needed for an all-day shoot in the forest. I'm going to let my husband decide if he wants this one and find one a little shorter. 5 stars for having a compartment for everything, as well as for make and materials! If it fits you, you'll be quite happy with it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Love Story I have fallen in love. After 10 days exploring the vast beaches, deep jungles, and confusingly dry rain forests of Costa Rica, I have fallen in love. This bag is the perfect fit for any day adventure. Enough space for a swimsuit, towel, and sunscreen for the beach. Or bug spray, a change of clothes and a packed lunch for two while hiking a dormant volcano. After a 6 hour hike and a few hour ATV ride I still felt like I didn't have anything on my back. My T4i camera and extra zoom lens was always dry, protected, and even invisible to the everyday thief with it's stealth ability to look like any old day pack. It even dooped a careful TSA agent. I only wish it was wider to fit my 15 inch MacBook Pro. But, you can't have everything.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect Backpack for 7D Im using this Backpack for my Canon 7D and feel very comfortable with it because the camera is protected and is packed tight. I also like the side access for the camera which makes it easy to access it. The backpack also has enough room in the top compartment for at least another 3 lenses and also fits a MacBook Pro 13. The material is of high quality and overall the backpack has been manufactured with high quality in mind. The only thing I would want you to know is that it won't fit the camera with a battery kit attached. I can only recommend this product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Hiking camera pack We had been looking for a camera bag that gave quick access to a camera and lenses but also contained an area for a water bladder and snacks/extra clothing layer. This backpack fit the bill. We spent sometime this past week in Rocky Mountain NP. We did 3 hikes ranging from 9-11 miles. The pack was very comfortable and was able to fit a 2 liter bladder, snacks, raincoat, and 2 small tripods. We did not need the rain cover but it is a nice accessory for when there is rainy weather. We spend a lot of time hiking as we are from Montana. This pack will get a lot more use and we are looking forward to using it more
