The Auto Extension Tube Set for Canon EOS from Vello allows your lens to focus closer than its normal minimum focus distance. By placing distance between your camera body and lens, focusing distance is shortened and the effect of magnifying your subject is created. Extension tubes enable macro performance for lenses not otherwise able to focus that close, and are also suited for close-up portraiture. The Auto Extension Tube Set for Canon EOS contains three extension tubes of 13mm, 21mm and 31mm lengths. They can be used individually or together in seven distinct combinations to create the desired magnification effect. For closer focusing use the larger extension tube or stack the tubes together. Extension tubes have no optical elements so do not degrade the quality of your lenses.

These tubes are fully automatic tubes in that they are able to communicate all electronic functions from lens to camera including autofocus and auto exposure.  They are built with metal lens mounts for durability and longevity and enable you to convert almost any lens into a macro lens at a fraction of the cost while maintaining the lens' original optical quality.

Auto Extension Tube Set for Canon EOS is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 158.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Vello Tubes So far, great product from Vello. The Canon EF 12 II sells for$ and the EF 25 II for $ totaling a whopping $. I paid $ (on sale) from B&H for 3 tubes. Execellant price!! Tried all 3 tubes and the macro pictures were stunning with my Canon 7D. I can't compair with the Canon tubes since I will not buy them. Only one concern, when attaching the lens to the tubes, it connects very easily, making me wonder if it is completely air tight. But the pictures do look great, so I don't think this is any concern. Go to B&H and buy the set!! You won't be disappointed.Uploaded images strait from the camera, no post processing.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from They do the job These tubes fit my 5D MkIII perfectly and easily. I haven't used them in the field, yet, but some early testing for light leakage and diminished aperture were basically positive. No leakage and roughly 1 f-stop loss with each tube used, which is expected. If you use a tripod, no problem. If you haven't used extension tubes before, be aware that you may be disconcerted at first because the focus tolerance is much lower, there's a lot of bokeh and, depending on your lighting, you may need to have a ring light setup. Focus is often extremely precise.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A great add-on for your Canon DSLR I believe this is a great add-on if you want to do close-shot photography. The alternative would be dedicated macro lenses which come in a mind headache array of IS vs. non-IS, USM/STM vs. noisy AF, and L vs. non-L glass... and they aren't cheap. The product works as described. I unlocked the 31mm piece from the lot and fitted it to my camera. I like to be gentle when handling stuff but this tube required a bit more force than usual. I can't say if this is normal or room-for-improvement. Also the metal rim on each tube had smudges on them (as if someone had used them before me). I was able to wipe them clean but those aren't great first impressions at all. After switching on my camera, I set my 18-55 lens to 55, switched from AF to manual focus and wow! You can get really up close and personal.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Right in the middle (price and quality) I bought this set of extension tubes to get closer results with my EF-S 60mm Macro. It does work, but you can see the quality is not what was expected. Unfortunately, there's a little play in between each of them, so they don't offer a snug fit with the lens and it's even worse when stacking them. Is this quality control and I got a bad set? All in all, it does the job of greater magnification, but you get what you pay for (the wobbling isn't great for the feel you get when holding the camera and lens in your hands and I can also imagine the dust that will make its way into the chamber through the cracks). Combined with the EF-S 60mm Macro, it gives the opportunity to go from 1x to about 3x by just rotating the focus ring and moving the camera back and forth. I don't see why you would use them separately as it's more versatile when stacked. If it was not for the lack of quality control, I would definitely recommend this to those who want to get into closer macro photography.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Up close and personal I have used this product as it is intended, for macro photography. While I do have a dedicated macro lense (canon 100mm macro lens (non L series)), I have used the extension tubes with that and other lenses to get closer to my subjects.. plants and insects. I have been pleased with the results with and without a tripod, though more so with the tripod and remote release. I am still playing with the extension tubes and learning different combinations, so I can not give the best review. The con is sometimes it is hard to get tack sharp focus and at times I have to move in or pull back with manual focus, but I think that is more of a lens issue. I would recommend it. And the 3 tubes are less expensive than 1 canon tube

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Fun inexpensive intro to Marco Picked these extension tubes up to start dabbling with Marco photography. The set is pretty much as advertised, the metal connections seems pretty durable even when mounted with a large lense. It's a pretty amazing how close you can focus, as an example my Canon 100-400mm lens has a min focusing distance of 5.9 feet, but with all three tubes mounted it's around 6 inches. This is really a fun and inexpensive way to get started in Marco photography. The only draw back that I have come across is that autofocus is a little difficult to use even on a brand new camera, but it you have live view this shouldn't be a problem. I have really enjoyed using these and do not see a reason to spend more for expensive tube set.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Better for telephoto lens I hope this product would improve my macro lens use. It made the image a few bigger. But with lens that normally have a small minimum focus distance, you probably wont use all the 3 tubes, but just the smaller one.In fact, for those lens with small minimum focal distance, you will have only a few reduction in the minimum distance with the extension tube. But with tele lens, you will have a better use for the extension tubes. There is something else: with this extension tube you will be able to use EF-S lens in a 6D. I made a test and it worked! Of course, without focus at infinity and with lower quality than an EF lens. The photo I send with this review was taken with an EF-S 55-250, at 250mm and the 13mm extension tube.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good for the price I only occasionally need to get extreme close ups, so I'm trying this set. I use Canon D5 II and Canon 24-70 F2.8L lens with the tubes. I went with this set over just the tubes because I want the use of the auto and manual F stop control. While you can use the auto focus I found the camera had a real hard time locking in focus on most subjects, so I'm going manual focus. The set is OK quality wise for light usage. I did find the 13mm tube has too much play in it when attached. Not a big deal for me but could be for some. Bottom line; this set works for me. If I was going to do a lot of close up photography I would go with Canon.
