I love this paper I usually do not use Matte paper but this paper is wonderful especially for proofing I also found that you can use it for alternative process printing.

This paper is just perfect for my archival art prints. it is just the right weight and whiteness for my images and it goes through the printer just right. Love it.

Is the paper short grain or long?

You'll probably have to work directly with B&H to get a specific grain direction for this particular paper. I've got 8 1/2 x 11 and it is grain long; another person mentioned they had 8 1/2 x 11 and it was grain short. The grain direction for this paper is listed on the back of the box as part of the lot number; you will either see a two-letter code of GS or GL within the lot number (e.g. 21055GL0218).

According to Gill at the store's printer section the paper can be had in either and is marked on the box.
