The FM3A continues the long line of successful mechanical Nikon SLRs, but is the best of the bunch. The features of the FM2 are retained, such as durable metal body construction and a classic centerweighted meter. Nikon's hybrid shutter control system, without question a revolutionary watershed, enables mechanical shutter speed control without batteries while in A mode the shutter speed is electronically controlled for aperture-priority autoexposure operation. TTL (through-the-lens) flash control, DX-coded film speed setting and a new brighter focusing screens are also included.
With its classic exterior, simple operation and compact body design, the FM3A is an ideal camera for gaining entry into the world of pure, personal SLR photography.
