A fast, versatile prime, this 30mm f/1.4 DC DN Contemporary Lens from Sigma is designed for use with Canon EF-M-mount mirrorless cameras. The bright f/1.4 maximum aperture benefits working in low-light conditions and also affords extensive control over depth of field for using selective focus techniques. The optical design features a pair of aspherical elements, along with one high-refractive index element, which significantly reduces spherical aberrations and distortion for increased clarity and definition for notably sharp image quality. Also, a Super Multi-Layer Coating has been applied to control lens flare and ghosting in strong lighting conditions. Additionally, benefitting both stills shooting and video recording, this compact prime also incorporates a stepping AF motor for smooth, near-silent autofocus performance. A rubber sealing at the lens mount helps protect against dust and other elements entering the lens or camera.

Sigma 30mm f/1.4 DC DN Contemporary Reviews
Awesome aftermarket lens!
I recently purchased the SIGMA 30mm 1.4 DC lens for the Canon M6 (EF-M). The feel and build are a step above the Canon 15-45 f 3.5-6.3 kit lens. Taking into account the APS-C sensor, the effective focal length is around 48mm. Concentrating on manual operation and trying to use the lens at it's fastest setting (f/1.4), focus is amazingly selective and sharp, side-to-side. The lens comes with a bayonet-mount lens hood and the focus ring is wrapped with a very comfortable and wide rubber focus ring grip. This lens is significantly larger than the 15-45mm kit lens and I think it'll become my defacto "travel lens". Great buy and excellent price-point. I'd grab obe before this lens series becomes extinct.
Great Lens for Casual Travel
The Sigma 30mm f/1.4 is perfect for casual travel. It produces beautiful background blur (bokeh) and maintains excellent sharpness, even in low-light settings like a campfire at night.
