I Was Suspicious Of A Small, Plasticy Lens With Horrible F/stop Numbers. Using It On A New Camera With All The Latest Features (decent High-ISO Performance, Intelligent Auto ISO Function And Today’s Good VR Technology) Is Surprisingly Good. I’ve Taken Hand-held Night Pictures That Came Out Beautifully (1/5 Second At F/5.6 At ISO 3200)! I’m Sold!

Does this lens perform macro close-ups?
Asked by: Phil
No, the Nikon NIKKOR Z DX 18-140mm f/3.5-6.3 VR Lens would not offer macro capability. That being said, the Nikon NIKKOR Z MC 50mm f/2.8 Macro Lens, BH # NIZ5028 would offer this capability. https://bhpho.to/3ZRpTV7

So this lens will only be compatible with the Z50 and Zfc, and not with other Z cameras?
Asked by: Robert
Using this lens on a full frame body will crop in the sensor, and effectively lower the resolution.

Can you compare in specs and image quality to the older (2019) Nikkor Z DX 50-250mm F/4.5 VR?
Asked by: Catherine
The difference is only the angle of view. The 18-140 is wider while the 50-250 has a narrower angle of view. Many photographers will use both lenses depending on the situation. For items far away like wildlife the 50-250 is better. For landscape photos, or photos of a group of people in a small room for instance the 18-140 is better.

Is there any reason to get the more expensive full-frame superzoom for my z7ii rather than this?
Asked by: Andy
Nikon NIKKOR Z DX 18-140mm f/3.5-6.3 VR Lens is a crop lens. Using that lens on the Z7ii will crop the image by 1.5 times. And you loose a lot of resolution.

Does this have VR that works with the Z50 ...

Does this have VR that works with the Z50 mirrorless which I gather does not have in-camera VR? Is it a 4-5 stop VR?
Asked by: William
According to Nikons announcement: The lens also realizes high vibration reduction (VR) performance with an effect equivalent to a 5.0-stop increase in shutter speed for more stable and sharp photos even during telephoto shooting or in low-light situations where vibration is likely to occur. This value is achieved when attached to a camera with APS-C size sensor, with the cameras VR function set to NORMAL, and when zoom is set to the maximum telephoto position.
