dosent work with iphone 4
It is a well built cable, however when I plug it into the iphone, only the headphone monitoring works. i am using a pearstone lav microphone that i bought at the same time. not sure if it is a stereo/mono plug problem between the iphone connector and the microphone... perhaps this needs careful research before buying. I have been trying to find out why and i have run accross many simular problems on the internet. Makes me think I should have just spent more money and purchased the irig... or a proven dedicated iphone mic combo. I wanted to use it as a recording device for filming.

Does not work with iPad 2 or iPhone 4s
I recently purchased the Sescom iPhone / iPod / iPad 3.5mm TRRS to 3.5mm Mic Jack and 3.5mm Monitor Jack, but I cannot get it to work properly. I have tested the cable with an iPad 2 (iOS 5.1) and iPhone 4S (iOS 5.1) both devices running GarageBand app (Version 1.2). Does not detect the cable. I have also tested the Camera app using video (on both iPad 2 and iPhone 4S) as well as the Voice Memo app. Does not detect the cable. I tested on two different iPads and two different iPhones. Same result, does not detect the cable. I tested an iRig Mic as well on the same devices with the same apps to see if it was the apps that were faulty. But all apps detected the iRig Mic device, and not the Sescom cable. I am using regular headphones to monitor and a 1/8 wired lav mic (with a fresh new battery). Both of these items were tested with other devices and they work fine. On the Sescom website, the product page states - Compatible with: Apple: iPhone 3G/3GS/4G, iPad, iPod (except early generation models with recessed headset jacks). However, I was unsuccessful in getting the cable to work with any of my iOS devices. The experience has been highly frustrating.

Worked perfectly-send audio via cell
we were able to take an audio feed from a board and broadcast it live via a cell telephone connection. At first we were not sure if the audio will be clean, but for speaches from the podium, it was great. It was out of the ordinary but successful.

Does Not Work with iPhone 6 Plus
This product does not work with iPhone 6 Plus, at least as of June 2016. The cable is not recognized by the iPhone video camera or recording apps. B&H should stop selling this product or ask the manufacturer to revise the listing.

Webinar like a pro from iPad
Am able to connect a professional studio mic and headphones to my iPad with this! Totally rocks for webinars, teleconference calls, Skype coaching calls, Blab, any two way communications or video conferencing apps. My only pet peeve is that my RODE VideoMicro does not work on it. :( Not sure if that is because of the cable or the mic. Still need to test some other mics to be sure.

A Must for Good Audio in the iPad!
This allows me to use by pro-level mics with the iPad. Works especially well with my wireless Sennheiser lav. The second jack is for headphones. The only issue is that you cannot monitor the audio while recording so you need to do a test recording first, listen to it, then make necessary adjustments. Once you're happy with the sound just go ahead and record the actual clip.

THE solution for iPhone external mic
This is a well made, simple splitter that allows one to use an external mic with an iPhone/iPad and monitor the sound with headphones. I keep it in a baggie in my messenger bag so that it doesn't get caught on anything, and always have it with me with a lav mic for interviews.

Works well
I bought this item to connect wireless microphones to my iPhone 6S plus and to connect my earphones. Works great but the only issue is the jack is a bit wider then the hole in most cell phone cases.
