It is my the second Manfrotto RC Pan Bar EX Remote Control to use with my Sony and Canon cameras. Nothing is better!

Only one issue

This is a nice upgrade from the original but with only one drawback. The new version has excellent controls to adjust the zoom speed and other functions. The old version had one advantage, it was built on the pan bar which was extendable. The extendable pan bar allowed more options for where you are behind the camera. It also allowed you to adjust where and how the zoom controls would fit your hand. That being said it's still a great product.

Will this control the Sony FS5?

It will not. This is for cameras that use the EX system for lens control. The FS5 has a LANC input, instead you'd want to look at the Manfrotto RC Pan Bar EX Remote Control for LANC Cameras, B&H # MAMVR901EPLA. https://bhpho.to/2nn5KFj

I received this with an tripod order as a bonus I suppose, I purchased several SONY z190s, is there an adapter I can purchase to make these functional for that camera?

We're afraid not. We are not aware of an adapter that will allow this controller to work on a camera that has a LANC input, it is meant for cameras that use the EX control system. Instead you would need B&H # MAMVR901EPLA, which is the LANC version of this controller and will work with the Z190. https://bhpho.to/2nn5KFj

It appears some Manfrotto heads may have different rosette geometries. Will this mount to a Manfrotto Nitrotech N8 Video Head?

You need to change out the rosette screw with a longer one, Manfrotto part no. R1094142.
