Sirui P-306 overview

  • 1Description

The Sirui P-306 Aluminum Monopod is a lightweight camera support that's ideal for extremely mobile operation with a DSLR, point & shoot camera, or a compact camcorder. For some situations, such as tourist locations where tripod use is prohibited, a monopod is the perfect way to fly under the radar but still ensure steady shots.

The six-section P-306 weighs just 1.1 lb and folds down to 15", so the monopod is an ideal travel companion – compact, lightweight, and ready to be set up quickly & easily. Extremely sturdy, the monopod supports loads up to 17.6 lb. Its five leg stages extend to a generous working height of 60.6", for comfortable eye-level operation for most users.

Reversible 1/4"-20 & 3/8"-16 screw on mounting plate enables the attachment of virtually any camera, camcorder, or head
Durable silicone rubber twist locks enable fast leg-stage extension and prevent inadvertent collapse
Foam grip for comfortable, secure operation and mitigation of extremely cold temperatures
Wrist strap for security in case the operator's grip slips

    Sirui P-306 reviews

P-306 Aluminum Monopod is rated 4.8 out of 5 by 50.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Solid Stick with a Great Feel! I wanted to wait until I had this monopod for a while before I reviewed it. I have had several chinzy tripod's and I was worried about getting that same feel in a monopod. This piece of equipment is great! It folds up small enough to clip to my camera bag, and stands almost as tall as me when fully extended. I use it as a walking stick and it helps balance out my load. I've also noticed that people are less likely to bump me on the subways in Seoul when I am carrying it. I have used it to hang my camera over the side of a building to get unique rooftop angles. I have no fears about the security of my gear. The sections slide out positively and lock into place with no slippage. There is a six year warranty on this monopod, but I am sure I will be using it much longer than that.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from pretty decent monopod This is a good quality monopod - way better than most I've seen or used. I like the mechanism for extending the sections, and the fact that the foot has both a hefty metal spike and a wide rubber base. The hand strap is nice, but I just cannot figure out why they put a compass on it. Do the designers expect I'm going to go backcountry hiking without a GPS or real compass, but with my monopod? My guess is the factory made a million too many tiny worthless compasses, and some executive insisted they get rid of some of them, so they attached some to these monopods. I'll let you know in a few years if I feel otherwise, but at the moment, the compass seems like a total waste.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Tool for a Minimalist Photographer Great travel accessory and fits in my carry on - The shortest one I could find (15 in) AND with the Sirui K-10x Ball head, will more than support the weight of my Nikon D610 with a tele/zoom. Using it to obtain unique angles/perspectives. Also use it for shooting sports action - I feel more ready to capture the shot (camera is already up) and appreciate it carrying the weight for the duration of a game. The combination is a little heavier than I wanted to travel with, but I'd rather the extra weight and have the extra confidence the rig will support my gear.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for event photography! I think this monopod from Sirui is a huge bang for the buck, and I regularly use it for event photography. The fit and finish on this monopod are superb from top to bottom. It is extremely easy to set up and fold down. I've added an Oben BA-00T ball head to mine for extra movement options. The mono does a good job of holding my GH2 + 14-140mm or 45-200mm. Heck, it is sturdy enough that you can put a forearm through the included strap and rest some weight on it. It's hard to believe that a mono this nice only cost $!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Your search is over: Buy this monopod! I spent many hours researching the different monopods out there in the $100 or less category. My #1 priority was finding something that was light-weight and could easily be carried around in a backpack, since I always shoot solo. The project I needed this for was shooting short interviews at a convention with my Canon 60D, but I wanted the option to use with a long lens I (might) buy in the future. So I was also looking for something that wouldn't just support the minimum weight. This monopod is everything I had hoped it would be. It helped me stabilize my shots, relieved me from certain aches and pains of holding a camera up for an extended period of time. At 15 collapsed, it's a few inches more compact than the competition. I was between the carbon fiber Sirui and this one but ultimately I couldn't justify the extra $40 to shave off a few ounces and went with the aluminum. After I added a ball head (I went with a Joby Ballhead X), I don't think the comparative weights of the monopods I would have made much difference. Very happy with this purchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing Mionopod With all of the MonoPods out there. How to pick the right one. I looked at sooo many online. They all sounded great. So I went into B & H Photo & talked to a salesman. I told him I wanted lightweight Plus strong. He showed me the Sirui Monopod & all of it's features, SOLD. What I really love about this company is they only make 2 monopods. One in graphite & one in aluminum. I went with the aluminum, cause I want a sturdy walking pole , plus I save myself $$bucks.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from An excellent piece of equipmetn It is compact(a priority for me) and is fairly light. The carbon fiber version costs a more, but to save a few ounces it is not worth it to me.It has no problem holding up my Nikon D5200 and 17-200mm lense, 2.45lbs/1105gDepending on your purpose, you may need a ball head.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from As good as they say After much research I settled on this momopod becuase of how small it can get. When I recieved it I new instantly that is was a quality piece of gear. The weight of it feels perfect in my hands. It deploys quickly and most importantly it can get really small. A+
