The Giottos 3260B monopod is standard and has a reversible mail thread and 3/8 inch.The head will work on with either size with the included bushing.

The QR plate looks exactly like my Giottos MH642C or MH511 that came with my ball head, any idea if those plates will fit in this?
Unfortunately, the Oben RP-20 Quick Release Plate is specific to the Oben heads like the VH-R2.

Will this head work on a Manfrotto 290 Monopod? ...
Will this head work on a Manfrotto 290 Monopod? How good is this head for panning vertical and horizontally when you are using a 400mm lens?
The Oben VH-R2 Tilt Head for Monopods is compatible with the Manfrotto 290 Monopod. This head is good for tilting the camera as long as the camera and lens does not weight more than 11 lbs. The head doe not allow for horizontal panning, but you could turn the Monopod.
