Oben VH-R2 Reviews
Iitial Defective Part
I Purchased The VH-R2 Head And Found That It Did Not Work Well At All. Problems With The Tightening Handle And Tension Changing As The Head Pivoted. I Think That The VH-R2 I Got Must Have Been Defective Because Others Have Given It High Marks. Oben Customer Support Reached Out To Me. They Suggested That I Try The VH-A30 For My Application. Rather Than Try The VH-R2 Again, I Opted To Go With The VH-A30. It Has Works Very Well Which You Might Expect Since It Is Quit A Bit More Money. You Do Get What You Pay For. I Have Several Oben Products. They Are A Good Company Interested In Customer Satisfaction. Their Customer Support Was Great.
Better than I expected
When I was looking for a monopod tilt head I found the Oben V-R2 at a very reasonable price. So I checked out the reviews. Most of them were very good but several stated that the screw came loose and fell out. I ordered it anyway expecting to have to fix the problem after it arrived. To my surprise the screw was tight so I worked the daylights out of it and the screw was still tight and everything worked as it should. I then took it out to take pictures in a park. I put my camera on and off maybe fifty times or more. It never failed me. the screw that tightens the head worked well as I changed the tightness many times depending on how I was using my camera. Again I had no problems, I could lock my camera in any position and it stayed there. It is a beautifully made of metal that I believe will last for decades. It is easy to mount and remove the camera and when mounted it is locked very securely. This tilt head from B&H is a winner!
