This came in two halves. The connector is solid and works well. There is very little movement once it is together. I wish it came sized exactly to my needs but it didn't. I wrapped gaffer tape around the end to make a snug fit in the cardboard core of the Savage paper backdrop.

I bought three sets of these, to hang two 86 backdrops and one 107. The poles work great for the 86 rolls, but I wish they were just another inch or so longer, so that they spanned the full width of the 107 roll. As others have noted, you'll need some padding to stop the rolls from spinning on the poles, but other than that, these did the trick.

I went to the hardware store to buy a 2 aluminum pipe to try and put it in the core of the savage paper and it was too big and wouldn't fit in (plus it was $30). So spend just a little more for something that was made for this worked out so much better! Slides right into the core of the Savage Paper and you just need to Rap the ends of the pipe in paper or that material that prevents carpets from sliding. For my next roll I will for sure buy another one of these.

I use these for hanging photography backgrounds as well as acoustic blankets on site when working on video productions. They are very light, durable, and easy to setup and breakdown. I cut holes in the ends to mount on C stands and they work great. Great product.

I ordered three of these to help some warped backdrop paper rolls that have been mounted for a while. I assembled them with the included allen wrench and inserted them into the cardboard core of the backdrop there is some space between the two which I fixed from a suggestion from another review. I cut some strips of rubber drawer liner and pushed them into the gap between the metal tube and the cardboard tube to create some grip so they would turn without slipping. the rolls of background paper now turn smoothly. it didn't eliminate the warp but it allows them to turn very smoothly. I think that installing them at the start of a new roll would keep them from warping.

I am so glad I got them

Is anyone using this to hang 53" seamless? I'm assuming it would require using only one of the poles? If that is the case can each part of the pole be used for two separate 53" seamless paper rolls?

question

Did anyone else have an issue with the pole not being wide enough in diameter? I'm unable to fit my Drive sets into it making it really hard to use!
Asked by: Amy L.
There is a very simple solution to this problem. Are you familiar with the "anti-skid" material that's used under rugs? It's that rubbery grid material you put between the floor and the bottom of the rug to keep people from slipping. Anyway, I got some 2" double stick tape and applied 2-3 one foot strips on each end of the pole and wrapped the anti-skid material around each end. Having the anti-skid between the pole and the inside of the tube keeps is from slipping.

question

Where can i get muslin that is 100 to 106 wide, so it is not too wide for the 106 pole?
Asked by: Robert
This pole is used with a fabric that is exactly the same width along with a Impact Wall Mounting Kit for Holding Three Seamless Backdrops B&H # IMVPDH3WK to allow the background to be pulled up or down easily. As for fabric backgrounds within that size, you can find those here: https://bhpho.to/2G8iTtC

question

Has anyone ever used this Cross Pole on a Step and Repeat Vinyl banner? I have an 8'x8' banner with pole pockets on the top and bottom that I would love to put on my Impact Triple hooks, as opposed to leaving it on a banner stand. First of all, I'm wondering if it would fit the pocket at the top (which supposedly has a 2 diameter) and secondly, if the vinyl will roll around the pole itself in the same manner as the paper backdrops?
Asked by: Robin S.
Being that the diameter of this pole is just less than 2, it could fit a background with 2 pole pocket sewn into it. The main purpose of this pole is to add a core to un-cored rolled backgrounds and allow the Impact Varidrive system to be inserted on both ends to pull it up or down. You can also place this pole onto a set of Impact U-Hooks as well.

question

Hi, not sure if this was answered already, but will these fit inside the 107 Savage cored seamless paper rolls?
Asked by: Russ K.
Fits inside the 107" savage rolls to help support and prevent sag. Works like a charm. Just need to use some paper on the ends or the material that prevents carpet from sliding to prevent the roll from spinning around the pipe. Works really well though.
